Me too. I'm looking for software that will allow me to reduce the size of large (over 2Mb) photos without distorting them. Thanks in advance.

Hmmm.
I've had much success with Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
PM me for a few simple details.

The GIMP! Professional grade foto editing on a five finger budget! Plenty of online tutorials floating around too.
http://www.gimp.org/
I use Microsoft Picture it, express 7. It's older *I haven't updated in forever, but was free with a walmart disc when I had film developed.
It's great for resizing, cropping and removing red eye.
There is also Photo Explosion, which I used before but haven't in a long time. I think that was good for cropping.
For more work on a photo, I run it thru Jasc Paint Pro Shop 8. That's great for anything you'll ever need to do with a photo, it has many tools. I also make animations with Jasc animation shop.
I paid for pro shop, the rest I think are free if you search the net.

Sparq, I use that program as well, however, it distorts the images when I reduce the size. I can take smaller pictures but the resolution is decreased.
The only way I know to aviod that *most* of the time, is reduce it slowly. Reduce it, save it, reduce it, save it,etc. If you do it at once from large to small, it will distort it.

Thanks, Miss Imp. I'll give that a shot.

If you need to resize photos, Paint does it marvelously. Just open the image, go to the image tab, click stretch/skew and make sure you set the horizontal and vertical to the same percentage and you're all set!

I knew that, I was looking for something a little more highspeed however.
Then try the GIMP one Nap quoted. It resizes complete folders to thumbs at one time.

www.picasa.com (http://www.picasa.com)
Easy, free, and great to use.
Of course, Photoshop is the best but it's pretty expensive.
Btw, you can easily resize your image in Paint if that's all you're looking for. If you wanna know how I'll tell you.

Read above, thanks though. I'm not paying for Photoshop either.

Picasa is good, you should try it.
You could download Photoshop for free illegally if that doesn't go against your ethics.
:) good luck
