I was curious to see what fans of other teams from other parts of the country thought of the San Francisco 49ers? It is always interesting to see what other teams and fans honestly think about your team and its's players anc chances for the coming season. Seeing as there are a lot of knowledgeable football fans on this board I thought I would ask you guys.

The Clowns play you guys Dec 30th.
PS. I used to hate you guys but dont anymore--at least, not as much. I hated you because you were so good with Joe Montana and all, and I hated hearing that Joe was the best QB of all time and better than Bart, blah blah blah. I guess I just got sick of you.
Haha, anyhoo good luck with the Clowns game.:D

Eh, I'm indifferent on most teams outside of the midwest. One thing's for sure, your niners and my vikes sure had a barn-burner of a game last season though....final score: 9-3, niners win.
I don't think I need to ask what everyone thinks of the Vikings.

I think since the days of Montana, Young, and Rice they suck, and it saddens me.

The 49ers are rebuilding, and it looks to me like they will be better than last year. I think they may have a real chance to win the NFC West this year, but there are many things that can happen in the course of a season. I think they are a year or two away from making a run at the Superbowl.

Historically, I always preferred the 49ers to the Cowboys. (Jerry Rice is my kind of guy. Michael Irvin and Deion Sanders are not.)
This year, I think they have a real good chance at making it deep in the NFC playoffs. NFC is still the weaker of the two conferences; and unless Grossman stops playing like an idiot, (that's a real big if) I think the NFC is wide open. A Super Bowl apperance for the 49ers this season isn't entirely out of the question; but I certainly wouldn't bet on it.
Something like 10-6 or 11-5 is what I'm expecting out of the 49ers this season.

Thanks guys. You are right, we are a year or two off from being a good team, but in a weak NFC even a half way decent team can go deep in the playoffs.
I like the way Nolan is building the team too. Runn oriented, strong defense. I like those kind of teams. I think he is building them kind of in the mold of the Baltimore Ravens. Draft good, pick up key free agents, and win with defense.

Defense is heavily improved, running game is strong.. If only Alex Smith can get the protection to throw to Vernon Davis for 120 grabs and 15 TD's.. you guys would be hard to stop.

Just when the niners' future was looking up...Bill Walsh sadly dies at the ripe young age of 75. Certainly a tough loss to take down for any die-hard niners fan.

He will be OK for the season. He will miss most of the pre season, maybe all, but there is no way he misses the season.

Well the 49ers are in a rebuilding stage and are stacking up some good talent. They had a good draft but I dont see them making a big splash for a few years. In my opinion the division might be won by the Rams or Seahawks.
