If you want to play a board game that computers absolutely can't touch, pick up Go.

I remember when solving checkers was a near impossibility. As computer power grows, eventually it will be solved. That need not ruin the game for anyone, you are free not to use the solution.

I love chess, even though it's been a while since I've played. I never ever cared for checkers. It is quite a feat however to have a computer know every single possible combination and how to win from that position, boggles my mind. I don't know if it'll be possible with chess any time soon however, and that's good.

I can't wait until they solve chess, then they can come up with newer, more interesting games to capture our imaginations with.

I hope they never solve chess. The whole fun of it is being creative and discovering something new. Even after hundreds of years of masterful playing, new strategies are still being created. Having a computer solve that would ruin everything. It'd be like, "What's the point?"

It'd be like, "What's the point?"
It's called entertainment.
