Though many people may disagree with an idea that there is a connection between music and current politics, there is one. For example, Pennywise, a punk rock band, released their album, Land of the Free?, about 3 months before the 9/11. One of their songs, "The World" discussed the needs of people to deal with the current problem before "the gun that's loarded" explode. Thus this album was more like a warning for the big thing that's gonna come soon.
People may laugh at this connection. However, music is a way for people, especially young people, to be exposed to different ideas. Some political issues may help them grasping the current world more than reading newspaper or watching TV.
