Sherry was driving down the highway when she stopped to fix a flat. Being a fat person, her tires go flat frequently.
When she stepped out of her concrete-reinforced vehicle, she accidentally walked into the path of a dump truck barrelling down the interstate at 80 mph. Splat. Adios Sherry.
Pretty funny, eh, James?
I thought so.

Rendova,
Back in the 60's I was taking a Field Biology course, what would later be called Ecology when some classmates and I went down into a large blowout in Indiana Dune's Park. When we tried to climb out we couldn't. The sand kept tumbling down, keeping us from moving up more than two or three feet. We were stuck there until the professor went and got a long rope and he and the rest of the class pulled us out one by one. Had we been alone we would probably still be there as bleached bones.

You are very fortunate, Frogger.
I don't know what's more dangerous--the dunes or the lake itself, with its shifting sand bars, vicious undertows, and its sieches--giant waves that appear out of nowhere.
When the lake's in a good mood, it's a sweetie. When not---Dad used to say--"Don't EVER turn your back on the lake!"
We went there about every day as kids.
Just last week, the lake was acting up. Some new arrivals deposited their beach stuff way too close to the shoreline and we thought we'd tell them to watch out as the waves were building as they always do in the afternoon.
They ignored us and giggled---some time later a giant wave came up and washed their entire camp halfway to Milwaukee.
