Unfortunately, these pictures are only worth about three words each.

Being an Army grunt, and from Texas no less, your views are by far to predictable.

Frogger

The majority of them weren't even worth three words.

So the guy hates George Bush, Dick Cheney and all things Republican. So the guy is an anti-Italian bigot. So he thinks 9/11 was an inside job by the government. So he hates the government and all those in it on both sides of the political fence.

So what.

Being an Army grunt, and from Texas no less, your views are by far to predictable.
Really? Did you predict that I'm a registered Democrat, have an utter dislike for conservative ideology, was against going to war in Iraq, voted for Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004, am pro-choice and pro-gun control?

Perhaps you also knew that I've only lived in Texas for three months and was born and raised in the blue state of New Jersey.

Sorry I don't fit into your little stereotype. I hope it doesn't make your head hurt too much.

GM1258,

I'm glad that this graphic artist speaks to you, and that his political views are the same as yours. And thanks of course for bringing his work to light.
I'm sure there are many posters on allforums who will agree with you and David Dees, and I look forward to seeing the intelligent discussion and dialogue that is sure to follow.

But let me clue you in on something, friend.
Drawing rude & elementary conclusions/generalizations about someone's views and opinions, based purely on what little you can read about them in their public profile, won't win you any respect around here.

And criticizing a man because he serves in the Army is just plain moronic.
In fact, I find it offensive.
You owe Jester (and everyone who serves in uniform) an apology, in my opinion.

(And the expression is “far too predictable”, not “far to predictable”. Don’t worry, I hear it’s a common error for folks from Pennsylvania. Must be a colloquial thing, I guess.)

Sparky2

Far from apathetic.
Involved, actually.

I pay my taxes. I vote.
I served my country in the uniform, and went to war under one President just as willingly as I served in silence under the shame and indignity of another.
I serve jury duty.
I work with a community service organization to build access-ramps for handicapped citizens who otherwise might not be able to afford such a thing.
I volunteer my time.
I clean up the streets, and indeed have shut down two drug houses in two different States as the volunteer Neighborhood Watch coordinator.
Involved, not apathetic.

What I am NOT, my critical friend, is some jackass who sits behind the computer keyboard and categorizes people as either 'liberal' or 'conservative'.
Because I am neither.

What I am NOT, my smirking, judgemental friend, is some jackass who sits behind the computer keyboard and categorizes people as either 'lefty Democrat' or 'war-mongering Republican'.
Because I am neither.

And what I am NOT, my all-too-quick-to generalize friend, is some jackass who sits behind the computer keyboard and categorizes people as either this or that.
Because I am what I am. A freethinking individual, not a stereotype that feeds into somebody else's comfort zone of ignorance and bias.

Do not presume to pidgeon-hole me into one of your convenient categories, monkey-man.
Don't do it, sir.

GM1258
06-24-2007, 07:12 PM
I served in the USAF active duty for 12 yrs. and another 8 yrs.
in the reserves.
I have as much respect for the uniform as anyone so don't
preach to me about wearing it.
I wore it for quite awhile and I was never out of 35-10.
Yes, I vehimently oppose Bush & Cheney but I support our troops.
A lot of people can't seem to grasp that simple concept.
Anyone who can't see the damage Bush has done is living in a cave.
Can you give me one good reason for invading Iraq?
Originally, Bush was shouting it was due to WMD's and that
"Saddam Hussein must disarm!" over and over and over.
Well were are they pal?

Failing that, Bush changed his sales pitch to "regime change"
as our reason for going in.
Yeah, Saddam was a brutal dictator and fed his people into shredders,
fed them to lions, burned them at the stake, etc.
So what! -- that's a civil issue legally addressed by the World Court & UN.
What did any of that have to do with 9/11?
There has never been any evidence to date coclusively linking
Saddam to the 9/11 attacks.
And what was the first thing we did when we went into Iraq?
We secured the oil minstry.
Not the airports, not the infrastructure, not even the armories.
He secured the oil ministry.
Nice to know where Dubya's priorities lay.
The insurgents looted the armories and have since used the
weapons therein to slaughter or own men/women in unifom.

"Well, Al Queda was there!", many say.
Al Queda is in dozens of countries around the globe in far
greater numbers than they were when we went into Iraq.
Their numbers there in 2003 were relatively insignificant.
Now we've drawn them there like moths to a flame and
in the middle of civil war where we have no business.
Meanwhile our boys are getting wasted and oil prices have tripled
reaping huge profits for the oil companies and their cronies.
Hmmmm...didn't the Bush Dynasty make their fortune in oil?
And weren't 41 members of Bush's original cabinet in the oil biz?
You bet your sweet bippy on both counts.
Coincidence?
I don't believe in coincidence.
Bush has isolated/alienated himself from the world community and the nation.
Even his own people jumped ship (Ashcroft, Powell, Baker, etc.).
He speaks only to a carefully chosen audience in closely gaurded
cocoons on military bases, VFW halls, and before Congress.
The Iraq Oil War is G. Dubya's Vietnam.

Now he is setting his sights on Iran.
While they may be a real threat, Bush is more than a day late and a dollar
short to be jumping into another war.
While he's been trying to get his hands on all that oil under Iraq, Russia
and China are supplying Iran with nuclear technology and raw materials.
While I am in no way a fan of Iran (US hostages held 444 days) we had
better have our priorities straight before we invade them as well or we
will find ourselves right smack in the middle of WW-III.
By the way, anyone notice the new support levels in currencies?
The U.S. dollar is now almost dead equal to Canada.
And it now takes two U.S. dollars to buy a British Pound.
You might ask what that has to do with the price of potatoes?
China and the Saudis have supported our record $12,000,000,000,000 debt
thru the purchase of our treasury notes for years now.
Since last summer they have scaling back on those notes and
putting their money eslewhere (Europe, etc.)
The result has been the decline of the dollar over the past year.
They don't want their chips in our basket any more and if they should
decide to pull out entirely the bottom will fall out of our economy.
We'd have a financial collapse that would make the Great Depression
look like the Reagon years.
So all you Bush lovers better buy gold & silver while it's still cheap.
Adios...

Dharmabum,

Sometimes in life you run into somebody who just plain doesn’t like your face.
Despite your best efforts to be a good fellow and a likeable guy, there will always be some folks who will never like you, nor will they ever show you the least bit of kindness or respect.

And so it is with me and you.
You find me sanctimonious and (psychologically at least) judgmental.
And you don’t get my humor.
I find you prickly, boorish, and frankly, a jerk.
(And quite honestly, I can’t even detect your humor.)

Such is life.
It seems that you and I went round and round a few months ago over some inconsequential subject, we didn’t agree at all, and of course we traded barbs.
I chose to ignore you ever since then, since clearly there was never going to be any productive debate or mature dialogue with you. Only ugliness and sarcastic, acerbic trash-talk.

I can’t exactly say why it is I found myself drawn back into this whole business of having the pissing contest with you, but here it is we find ourselves again.

I don’t really care to do this, to be honest.
Your politics and mine aren’t the same, though I suspect that your politics are more a vehicle for antagonism and blustery bravado than they are a true commitment to any given cause.

We don’t share any common humor, spirituality, or anything resembling a common ground. And, although I am a fairly diplomatic and even-tempered fellow most days, I have no intentions of ever kissing your ass in order to just ‘get along’, or to keep the peace. I have my pride after all.

Let’s just agree then to disagree, and give each other plenty of elbow room.
I’ll accord you that much respect, if you’ll simply do me the same.

Please if you must, by all means, fire back and do the whole ‘point by point’ smart-ass dissection of my monologue here. I would expect nothing less of you.
I will do my best to simply ignore it, and take the high road.

I take some comfort in knowing that I can count my allforums friends in the double-digits, and I suspect that your allies (not friends, surely) number somewhere between one and three.

Have a good life, Dharmabum.
And remember, if you treat the interns at your job the same way you treat people on these boards?

Yeah. They’re gonna piss in your coffee.

Dharmabum,

Sometimes in life you run into somebody who just plain doesn’t like your face.
Despite your best efforts to be a good fellow and a likeable guy, there will always be some folks who will never like you, nor will they ever show you the least bit of kindness or respect.

And so it is with me and you.

Yes, dispite the fact I did nothing to you, you instigated this "conflict" (such as it is) between the two of us by being and rude, obnoxious, arrogant jerk to me and telling me that I should "seek professional help" just because you didn't agree with some point I made.

Do not decieve yourself Sparky, the ill will between the two of us was started solely by you. I did nothing to you to justify the incredible jerk you have always been to me.

You find me sanctimonious and judgmental.

For very good reason... because you are.

And you don’t get my humor.

Since you consider being an jerk "humorous" no, I must admit I don't get yours. You seem to be the kind of person who would find "bumfight" to be highly humorous. That is not my style.

I chose to ignore you ever since then, since clearly there was never going to be any productive debate or mature dialogue with you.

Of course not! You started out trying to converse with me by childishly telling me to "seek professional help" in lieu of a rational or productive response.

Frankly, since you seem to be incapable of being polite or even rational when responding to me, I prefer if you went back to ignoring me and saving your "wit" (such as it is) for someone who doesn't see through your transparent facade.

I don’t really care to do this, to be honest.

Then you should not have started it.

Your politics and mine aren’t the same

I would not know since you have never been capable of having a mature political discussion with me. You, like napsterbater, are too worried about being "humorous".

though I suspect that your politics are more a vehicle for antagonism and blustery bravado than they are a true commitment to any given cause.

You should not advertise your ignorance like this. You are embarressing yourself. Do not pretend that you know me. It only makes you look even more pathetic than you already do.

We don’t share any common humor, spirituality, or anything resembling a common ground.

I would bet that we do but it is very clear that you have no interest in having any rational discussions to explore that. You are too hung up on your warped idea of "humor".

And, although I am a fairly diplomatic and even-tempered fellow most days

Bullshit.
I have seen you make that claim, but I don't buy it for a second. Vilepagan is fairly diplomatic and even-tempered and you, Sparky, are no vilepagan.

You have never been anything even approaching diplomatic or even-tempered towards me. You have been nothing but a rude, obnoxious jerk in my experience.

I have no intentions of ever kissing your ass in order to just ‘get along’, or to keep the peace.

Nobody has ever asked you to. You simply have no intention of being mature or rational because you are a jerk. Period.

Let’s just agree then to disagree and give each other plenty of elbow room.
I’ll accord you that much respect, if you’ll simply do me the same.

Sparky, you had your chance to do that a while ago and you chose instead to attack me for no reason. Now I simply consider you an obnoxious jerk.

Please if you must, by all means, fire back and do the whole ‘point by point’ smart-ass dissection of my monologue here. I would expect nothing less of you.

Yes, that is because I actually address points made instead of childishly telling someone to "seek professional help" (unless I am parodying you, which I have admittedly done several times lately).

I will do my best to simply ignore it

Of course you will, since you don't do rational discussion. You only do baseless attacks and snide comments. Then you run and hide and proclaim that you are "diplomatic and even tempered"

I take some comfort in knowing that I can count my allforums friends in the double-digits

That is just sad.
I come here for the discussions, not to make internet "friends". I have no need to seek out "friends" on the internet.
I have a real life with real friends that fullfill my needs just fine. You should try it sometime.

Have a good life, Dharmabum.

My life has already been extremely blessed, but thanks anyway.

And remember, if you treat the interns at your job the same way you treat people on these boards?

Well Sparky, nobody ever has, so that should tell you something.

Imagine whatever helps you sleep at night kiddo.
It is no skin off my back.

Tsk, tsk, tsk, Dharmabum. You are posting from work. That is basically theft from your employer. You are paid to work, not surf the internet or participate in chat fora. Fie on you, Dharmabum. I am aghast at your lack of integrity.

[QUOTE=Sparky2]Foolsworth,

When I need your assistance or advice, I'll ask for it, sir.
Until then, please return to the reruns of Scooby Doo, Six Million Dollar Man, and Who's The Boss.

There's a hidden message in there, somewhere surely.

Successful people don't entertain the business notions you hold dear to your heart, bud.

If you make over 50K a year, I'd be shocked, and you'd be overpaid.

you (Sparky) have been nothing but a rude, obnoxious jerk in my experience.
Funny that you'd be one of the only posters here who's experienced his brand of vituperation despite the fact that this forum is decidedly left leaning, politically speaking. Sparky is far from being considered a staunch rightwinger. You, OTOH, well......you're the one with an agenda, asswipe. You're a fucking loon.
