I saw this tonight and it is really good!

Even Fox News called it "uplifting and brilliant". (http://www.google.com/search?q=sicko%2C+fox+news&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a) They said that it "Shows Michael Moore's Maturity as a Filmmaker".

The usual right wing kooks are, of course, all going to have their predictable knee-jerk reaction just at reading the name Michael Moore and start foaming at the mouth. The shame is that there are people who will refuse to see the movie just because of their reaction to Mr. Moore, because it really is their loss.

The Truth is that national health care is cheaper, more efficient and provides a higher level of quality than for-profit health care.

But so long as there are Billions to be made by people like William McGuire, they will fight to their last breath against anything that threatens their gravy-train.

I will watch it eventually. I'm actually more for a national health-care system than against.

I saw it when it leaked on googlevideo. I thought it was better than Fahrenheit 9/11 but not superior to Bowling for Columbine. I wanted more than what he offered in the movie.

Lots of reviews, some positive, some negative. But all seem to agree the film is, in Moore's typical style, intendedly one sided.

I can't wait to see it. A friend of mine bought it in China town this past weekend for 5 bucks - so I may get to watch it on DVD this week.

I got to see an early screening and I am definately still going to see it in the theater.

As for the claims of it being "one sided" that is pure bull pucky.

He addresses all the rightwing propaganda about "socialized medicine".

I really loved it, especially when he compared other countries' national health system's with the USA's. The French comparison was beautiful.

Does he address any problems with a socialized medicine system? No, he makes it look like it is always a field of daisies.

All of Moore's films are terribly one-sided.

I heard the movie was real boring compared to his other two "documentaries". His movies are one sided, to hear someone think they are not is just confusing to me. Even if you agree with him, you should still be able to understand he's only covering one side.... right?

Well anyway, I hear there is quite a bit of footage about France and how much everyone loves their liberal government over there. But since he filmed those scenes, the Frenchies have elected in a completely different government... A government far more conservative that will probably have some changes in the socialized health care.

Also in the movie, he uses a absolute joke of a hospital in LA to show how hospitals in the US are shit. Its the hospital where that one lady died in the emergency room because she didn't have insurance and no one would help her. That happened after he filmed his movie and was not in the movie. The hospital is still notoriously and nationally known as being terrible. A poor comparison at best to what actual hospitals are like.

But anyway, Michael Moore is full of it. Canadian Bacon is funny though.

Also, I find it funny that on the list that ranks each country in the world's health care; Canada is only one spot ahead of us on that list.

Why didn't he make a movie about Canada's health care... He does live there, you know...

Nobody except you is making that claim.

National Health care is simply superior to what we have today.

That just goes to show what a rabid partisan you are. There is nothing inherently partisan about health care, but you continuously choose to make it a partisan issue.

Dammit Dharma, you may not be the biggest political hack on this board, but you've got to be in the top three. I guess you feel free to toss that allegation around now that everyone's agreed to stop using the "pot kettle black" line.

It's the first of Moore's films that appears to have received favorable commentary from a wide audience.
