View Full Version : pagans, new age, feminism, and idiots
i've noticed over the years that many of the pagan groups , more like new agers, are mainly woman dominated. it is all about the women. the men are left in the background to cow and kneel to them and nod and say, "yes, dear" a lot. guess what? i believe that the majority of these "men" are only there to see all the naked women and hopefully get laid a lot.
there is a difference between pagans and new agers. new agers get everything they believe form a book. they don't pay attention to dreamtime. and if anything pops up that doesn't confrom to what the book says, it is regarded as garbage or evil. and a new ager willBUY his/ her religion without thinking of it. kind of like giving money to a preacher in a church to preach what he believes. beliefs are free.
Years ago I had a white magic coven; I was the warlock/leader.
I was the only male present. I would not consider it was male dominated, we worked together.

Um, why would that get you laid any faster than going to a bar? They learn spells or summin that's more potent than alcohol?

I remember you mentioning this long ago and far away. Which direction did your beliefs go in? If you are comfortable answering that, if not, just ignore ok?

a lot of them get off on the "power" thing in the "magic" they do. it apprantly at times makes people horny. and the men also are seen as more openminded, and concerned with feminine issues. and the women go, "awwww.. he's sweet."

Sal, we mainly had lots of fun conducting simple rituals to improve our lives and the lives of those we cared about.
It was surprising the effect like-minded thinking could have on certain events/occurrences when expectation replaced a deity.
We worshiped no deity. We had no sacrifices or sex involved.
We were close to nature, but not in as much detail as wicca.
The closeness we developed without a "church" atmosphere was very good.
Some of these women were happily married with children.
Our meetings were usually located at our home, on the beach at night, or forest scenes.
It finally ended as each of us moved away to new locations.
Some people seem to believe that in order to "belong," and have support groups, they must submit to the rules and regulations of organized religions.
I found that this is not always the case.

It is not the answer I expected but it is one I truly like. Let me get honest for a moment ok?
I found you more free and easier a few years ago. Perhaps this is just my perception of your posts or perhaps it is just that you have moved a bit more right in your thinking. I do not know which is correct.
When I first arrived I found you sort of "energy conscious" without being deity fixed. Lately I can't quite place where you stand although I have tried. On some things it is left, on others it is right.
I am thus too, but for a while I was truly contemplating where you sat. So I took the opportunity to ask. I think you will understand when I say, I always think it best to "wait for the opportunity" for it always presents itself at the most opportune time if one has patience.
I think like-minded thinking has a huge, huge impact upon the world. Although no longer Christian, I can truly understand and support their "power of prayer" and "laying on of hands". It works because of energy transfer. Not because God has deemed it so. Although he may have. We can never know.
We have power. We can change things. So, where are you now with this?

Sal, I appreciate your response and question. I believe my change has been in patience with some people. Sometimes I make statements to shock or make another think a little deeper.
I do not feel that I am right or left, but sometimes, to maintain a center path, one must make a left or right course correction. Sometimes I might make a seemingly fanatical statement, to another, to make them realize that they are on a fanatical pathway and to realize how preposterous it really sounds.
So much could be accomplished if the energy we command were utilized properly. To bury ones gift in the blanket of fanatical religions ties a millstone around the neck of man's mental evolution.
Religion is not the only method of regression, becoming too caught up in earthly disappointments, work, guilt, etc., can be just as detrimental to ones potential.
It is still interesting, to me, that we all walk basically the same path on the same planet, yet each learns entirely different lessons.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction with my clumsy attempt here.
Have a good day, I appreciate you.

Thanks Dan. Yup, the other you is still you. I really, really like your thought "sometimes, to maintain a center path, one must make a left or right course correction". I hadn't thought of explaining certain choices in my own life like that before, but it is a good way to look at it and understand various wavers we make in our path.
Nice to catch a fellow traveller on a different yet very similar path. I appreciate and quite like your process thanks again.
