View Full Version : A Confession by God submitted to ivescrewedup.com

Here's a little confession that I submitted (probably to no avail) on ivescrewedup.com little confession game website. But this one is from God!
Here it is verbatim for your amusement. And it's about high time too!
Finally God takes responsibility for his own actions!
"I'm sorry for allowing evil to run amok in the nice little world I created, and double sorry for being such a pompous asshole and from now on I'm letting all the inmates of hell out where they can have the option of another worldly life or direct entrance into heaven. I realize now that I'm the one responsible for my creation and I can't reasonably blame people for following the natures I gave them in the first place. Besides, I should never have stuck the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden in the first place! Who knows human nature better than I, and I should have forseen the inevitable. And I should have done a better job with Satan. No wonder Satan, the most intelligent of all my children rebelled. From now on I'm going to be a GOOD God not just in name or theory but in practice! And to make matters worse, my crime of failure to follow my own laws of forgiving my enemies! Everyone's sins are now forgiven forever both those in the past and those of the future. I'll live and let live and recognize the fact that love must be given freely, and not forced by bribes or threats. I hereby give my humblest apologies to all that I've wronged including my son Jesus who needn't have died, since I could simply have forgiven people without all that suffering and bloodshed. What a jerk I've been! A new epoch begins.
So sayeth I, the Lord!"

Same timeframe, three days in a row.
A brief flurry of troll-like postings between 8:30 and 10:30 or so, and then nothing until the next day.
Dang, the public library must have some sort of time limit regarding how long they let one person monopolize one of their computers.
War.. eh, I mean, funindep... er ah, I mean, Rivka... oh uh, I mean Nighthawk. What the hell kind of library are they running up there?
Doggone fascists!!

trollin', trollin', trollin'
trollin', trollin', trollin'
trollin', trollin', trollin'
trollin', trollin', trollin'
Trollhide!
trollin', trollin', trollin'
Though the words are swollen
Keep them posts a trollin'
Trollhide!
Rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent for leather
Wishin' no trolls were here inside.
All the things I'm missin',
Good posts and reminisin',
All to often now sorely denied.
CHORUS
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Head 'em up, move 'em on
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Trollhide
Count 'em out, ride 'em in,
Ride 'em in, count 'em out,
Count 'em out, ride 'em in
Trollhide!
Keep movin', movin', movin'
Though they're disapprovin'
Keep them trolls a movin'
Trollhide!
Don't try to understand 'em
Just rope, throw, and brand 'em
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
My minds calculatin'
That discussion will be waitin',
Be waitin' at the end of my chide.
Trollhide!
Trollhide!

I'm no Old Phart (well I really am an old fart) but here is my effort.
Nighthawk never had a job in the city
Never worked a minute during night or day
He never lost one minute of typing
Worrying about how nasty he might seem
Keyboard keep on churning
Nighthawk keep on burning
And you’re trolling, trolling
Trolling on Allforums
Started a lot of threads daily
Pissed a lot of people on the internet
Never saw the good in any other poster
Stirred a lot of shit on the internet
Nighthawk keep on trolling
Foolish man keep on trolling
And you’re trolling, trolling
Trolling on Allforums
If you stop posting your crap here
I’ll bet you’ll make a lotta the posters cheer
You don’t have to worry we can’t stand you sonny
But we can take the worst that you have to give
Keyboard keep on churning
Nighthawk keep on burning
And you’re trolling, trolling
Trolling on Allforums

I love it, Nighthawk.
Although i wish you could have worked in something about how he was deeply sorry for ordering so many small infants hacked to death. (not that I think that such a supposed omnipotent entity would deserve forgiveness for such monstrous, inhuman acts)
I love what Mark Twain said in the vein you're talking about ------
""
"...a God who could make good children as easily a bad, yet preferred to make bad ones; who could have made every one of them happy, yet never made a single happy one; who made them prize their bitter life, yet stingily cut it short; who gave his angels eternal happiness unearned, yet required his other children to earn it; who gave his angels painless lives, yet cursed his other children with biting miseries and maladies of mind and body; who mouths justice, and invented hell--mouths mercy, and invented hell--mouths Golden Rules and forgiveness multiplied by seventy times seven, and invented hell; who mouths morals to other people, and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, then tries to shuffle the responsibility for man's acts upon man, instead of honorably placing it where it belongs, upon himself; and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites his poor abused slave to worship him!" -------Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain)

In my opinion, the post isn't so bad, it's just the way he approached it thats childish and stupid. Everyone knows that when it comes to religion, its pointless to be a blunt ax, for then what have you proven but the fact that your an A-Hole.
This is a debating forum, pose a frikin question Nighthawk, or a statement worth refuting.

While your point is excellent midnightsun I am just disappointed that people are so easily baited and snagged. It is hard to watch quite frankly. Maybe just because I have been away for a few days, and to read post after post is disturbing.

If I wanted to debate/discuss why American Idol is so popular (and I don't understand why it is), I could start a thread several ways.
example 1 - Why does anyone watch American Idol? All I see is a bunch of average talented, semi-professional singers trying to get a record contract via a TV show. Why the interest?
or....
example 2 - Anyone who watches American Idol is a moronic, brainwashed, and tasteless boor. People who view this show are pigs with no life and no intelligence.

Oldpart to be quite frank this whole thing is a bullshit sham.
Why is it incumbent upon the person who starts the thread to be responsible for behaviour exhibited in responses?
If I read the politics section or the world news, people post outrageous things there all the time. Rightwing extreme, or leftwing extreme. That is what generates discussion. And through discussion we learn.
We don't learn from hanging with people who think like us, eat like us, speak like us and who never attack our beliefs. We gain comfort from them. The people that we learn from (for those who are capable) are those different from us.
I am totally baffled by this whole troll thing. And in light of that I am changing my opinion of trolls.
You know what they really elicit...peoples true nature.
People here absolutely delighted in the drama which ensued. They used it as a base to lose their head and spend all freaking day guessing, and supporting their little group. Same survives, kill different.
If people do not have the where with all to control their own behaviour while posting then apparently the powers that be need to do that for them. I see that as pathetic.
Watching this whole thing was disappointing in the extreme. Suddenly this forum which I have loved wants "statis quo". Well fuck statis quo. So far that hasn't worked in the world, it sure as hell won't work here.
In the end Oldphart we are all responsible for our own behaviour not controlling that of others.
If I sound angry it is because I am. Not at you, but at how a small, loud and whining group gain power. It is the relentless noise that is tiresome but effective. It refects the aspects of the real world that at my age I have now come to despise.
It has certainly be a learning experience for me. I wonder for how many others.

I understand why you are upset over some of this, although I actually kind of enjoy "messing" with these types of posters. To each their own, I suppose.
BTW... I want NO power here. My work affords me more than enough "power" over others. I come here to post and say things about how I feel, and to counter those opinions that I don't share. If everyone shared my feelings on all issues... this would be a very boring place for everyone.
To be honest, I would "attack" trollish behavior regardless of the point of view they have. It's my mentality (now you know why my wife's nick-name for me is "ass").
oh... and I wasn't "calling" you on your original post, just giving you my opinion on what constitutes trollish behavior.

Watching this whole thing was disappointing in the extreme.
I agree. Disappointing.........but unsurprising.
The teeming herd has been indoctrinated for millenia to view anyone who presents a different viewpoint or a radically new outlook or who dares to challenge conventional wisdom as being "bad" or "evil".
The mindlessness of the herd ideology demands that all members of the herd plod along --always and forever-- in the same direction.
Suddenly this forum which I have loved wants "statis quo".
true.
Maybe the moderators have changed in number or person.
Well fuck statis quo. So far that hasn't worked in the world, it sure as hell won't work here.
Having a moderator with a stick up the posterior may turn out to be a bit like having Bush as president; it won't "work" in any real sense of the word, it has been a disaster, it has caused immense harm, but somehow people put up with it.

Yes! There were far too many sentences absent of villianization of Bush in that post there, glad to see you got it in at the end. Of course, this occurred during a discussion about the forum itself which started in a thread about mocking religion.
Cheers.

It seems Sal doesn't recognize the difference between debating and trolling. Debating is offering a position on a topic and inviting others to discuss that position. Trolling is actively trying to incite other posters. Nighthawk admitted that that is exactly what he/she/it was doing. Perhaps Sal should read more of Nighthawk's posts rather than just a few before commenting.
There are many posters who question the validity of Christianity but only two, Freethinker and the now banned Nighthawk who purposely put up what can only be described as nasty posts about the topic. Neither of the two wants debate. They both desire only to insult and incite.

I think Sal does recognize the difference between debating and trolling. It seems that what Sal doesn't understand is how someone can post about how one should behave with said trolls and then five minutes later jump right back into the fray AND then complain once again about said troll.
Sal thinks there will always be trolls Frogger. Who cares it they wish to insult and incite? There will never be enough moderates in the world around here if every time one drops in, every one jumps into the thread.
You can't complain about trollish behaviour when you have joined in.
