Yes, I have a Dream, that one day down in Alabama on a children's playground a little atheist boy will play beside a little christian girl and neither will notice the difference in the other or care, but live in peace and harmony and...........(What the Heck?)......

Oops! A bomb planted by the little Muslim boy who secretly desired the little Christian girl as his own just went off blowing both atheist and christian to kingdom come!

The moral of this dream is:

He who builds the best bombs has the last word!

Who wants to take bets as to when this warrior-spawn gets banned?
Sparky had it figured out quickly, but I believe he was overruled.

It is always kind of fun having a Warrior on board. They are so contrary and nasty that they tend to unite the rest of the posters. The difference is, where Warrior was simply pugnacious, Nighthawk is pugnacious and pretentous.

This dream has a different ending then what I expected...
I thought the little atheist boy was going to grow up, start a revolution, take over a country, and execute the Christian girl for meeting with other Christians.

Even in my own generation pretty much no one cares about religion (although I can't speak for people my age who have grown up sheltered from anyone of another religion). It's less of an issue even than race for us.

For example, my boyfriend is a fairly devout Episcopalian, as are his mother and sister. His father is Methodist, which caused problems with his parents' families when they got married but of course they didn't care. I am basically a deist, although I've described myself in the past as atheist or agnostic. I am currently thinking about religion a lot and considering a conversion if I find a faith that inspires me. Another example is my parents (dad and step-mom). They are Catholic and Jewish respectively. Neither of them considered it an issue at all and amazingly neither did their parents who are all quite religious. The only time it even came up as an issue was when my sister was born but they both agreed that she should be raised Jewish.

Hey, do you want to be more wise?
If you like beef and you have oily skin, you may take multivitamin-supplements. We need vitamin for our energy from fat, and our brain needs a lot of energy for working.
If you take multivitamin-supplements and your brain get a lot of energy by fat and vitamin, your brain will be more wise. Try it, and know your past.

Deism was once a very common religious or philosophical persuasion among intellectuals and boasted such luminaries as Thomas Paine, author of The Rights of Man, President Thomas Jefferson and the French wit Voltaire. Nowadays, it's rather uncommon, since the public seems to be polarized either to outright atheism or theism with all its attendent rituals and absurdities. I myself am basically a Spinozan pantheist, tho' often accused of atheism. Like atheists, I expect nothing beyond the grave but oblivion, but unlike atheists, I do recognize a higher power, Nature. However, I do not believe that Nature could care less about me or anybody else as an individual and judging by the fact that 90% of all species that have existed on this planet of ours are extinct, it's safe to say Nature couldn't care less about us as a species either. If we survive, it's totally up to us. The ball is in our hands and if we hit or miss, we've nobody but ourselves to blame. Nature has given us all the tools necessary, beyond that we need not ask.

Haha, I've know you by your comments, Nighthawk.
"Sense" isn't by higher power. "Sense" is just by your capacity.
Do you guess you stand beside God?
No. Your capacity (or just your skill) just stands on your sense and yourself. Possibly, you guess your achievements are made by almighty power that never came out. But it's just your misconception.
Correct answer is, nobody know something that you've known. Nobody sense something that you've sensed.
Try to ask anyone around you to weak side of another person that you've know the weak side of the anoter person. Maybe he will miss the point.

The superstitionists will ALWAYS care, and they will forever hate and revile those who dare to not 'believe' as they do.

It terrifies the gawd-believer when he realizes that there might be someone who does not share his absurdist fantasies of "sin", redemption and immortality. Skepticism has the uncomfortable effect of casting strong doubts upon their fragile little "system of beliefs".

Also, Nighthawk, whenever you hear the simpleminded superstitionists here begin to whimper with fear and screech their hatred for you and anything you have to say, keep this thought firmly in mind;

""Religious people often accuse atheists of being arrogant and placing ourselves in the position of god, but really it is the theist who has all the vanity. The religionist is an ignorant coward who can't stand to think that he will ever cease to exist"" ____ Marian Noel Sherman
