I know that in the East they get kids much earlier then in the West, but still i'd like to ask mummies and daddies here, how old were you when you became parents? Was it decided in advance, or a spontaneous decision, "accident" lol? How did your relatives and friends react?

No, it's just about one copule of my friends. The guy will be 18 in september, his girl is 18 already and she is pregnant now. They're going to keep a baby, expecting him in january. I found it out just yesterday and thinking about it all day. I was thinking about what would i do, if some day she comes and says: I am pregnant! Sad that children already become a problem for parents, not even been born. :)
There is a wise persian proverb: get married young, so that your children will be your comrades.

Never married (although I did spend 11 years living with someone, once upon a time).
No kids. (Whew!)
I had Sammy when I was 31. I didn't get married until years later.

Daughter born when I was 25. She is 19 now.
Been married for almost 26 years to the same wonderful lady. Just goes to show that even a blind hog can find an acorn occasionally.

I was 22 and my first husband was turning 24 when we had our first son. It was a mutual decision made on Christmas Eve of 1980. Our second son came when we were much older. I was 28 and he was 30. Both of our sons were planned. My now husband and I, unfortunately, don't have any children together. But he treats my sons like his own and that's good enough for me.

I got married at 23 and had my son at 28. We were at that point of "if we get pregnant, great, if we don't, that's okay too." So we were really happy when it happened but it was not a "planned" pregnancy.
Had our daughter at 31. She was kind of a surprise, but a blessed event to be sure.
