Please Click here (http://www.allforums.net/profile.php?do=editoptions) and make sure "Show Images" is checked (Scroll down a little bit to see it)
You might also wanna check "Show Avatars" and "Show Signatures" also :)

Jenny,
Upload your photos to imageshack or photobucket and copy the image (IMG) code to your post. That will display the pictures you want. But do me a favor. Resize them to something under 640 by 480. Those 1600 by 1200 photos will totally obliterate my screen.

it's the "insert image" button...click on it (just above the text field when you reply) and scripted window pops up...insert your image's URL in there and it will wrap the [IMG] tags around it for you.

Are you trying to post an image from your computer, or from the Internet?
If it's from the Internet, just grab the URL and post it like this: [img]http://www.allforums.net/images/misc_mns/mns7_logo.gif[/img]
If it's from your computer, you need to do one of two things. In the "Reply" window, there's a button below that says "Manage Attachments". Use that button to upload it to Allforums. OR, as some have been suggesting, use an image host like Image Shack (http://www.imageshack.us) or PhotoBucket (http://photobucket.com). They have upload instructions there. Then, use the [img] tag as I said above.

I think somethings not quite right with the attach image feature. I tried it and it did the same as yours. I think sticking to using image shack or photobucket works better

For some reason, you tried doing both of my pieces of advice, instead of just one or the other. Remove the img bit. You don't need it if you attach the image.

My boyfriend works for them, too. He's a geologist, working on his Phd to become a "Fluvial Geomorphologist". I'd never heard of such till I knew him, but I've sure learned a lot about streambeds and what we're doing to impact them.
I just saw the USGS emblem and had to ask. He also served 15 years in the Marines (I looked at your homepage).

It is a small world, huh? His crew is out this morning, actually, because of all the rain we've had here. The streams and rivers are prime for sediment flow and measurements. Also, makes for some great floating trips!
Good to meet another USGS guy. All the ones I've met here, I like. A good bunch of people, from what I can tell.
