The tiger mauled Roy & dragged him off the stage - at the Mirage in Vegas.

Would be funny if it wasn't for the fact Roy was in critical conditiion. I guess the Tiger got sick of being exploited with no pay :)

The tiger was making its debut. I guess it wasn't trained well enough. :(

probably half way thru the show one of the stage hands probably looked at another handler "you fed the lion right?" - "No I thought you did", "Oh well we'll feed it later should be ok..."

I read in the paper today that they say that the tiger is making its debut every night. I'm not sure why lying about that makes for a more thrilling show.

The lion wouldn't sit down - so he tapped it on the nose with the mic - it grabbed his arm twisted him around and then lunged at his throat dragging him off stage like a rag doll - which in tiger talk means 'i'm sick of your shit & your flashy pants'

Of all the shows in Vegas - that would have been the one to see hands down

Roy in happier times...

I read the Tiger had been doing this stuff for about 15 years so which is it a debut, or a tiger that just got sick of stupid humans. Either way point 1 goes to the tiger, but probably he will be put down for being a bad kitty. After all we know tigers were put on this earth to be in vegas, and smacked in the nose with a mic.

Wasn't there an episode of the Simpsons that showed a tiger riding a unicycle and wearing funny clothes while a couple of Sigfried and Roy lookalikes taunt it? I think the tiger mauls one of them. Hmmm.

Roy - todays tiger trainer and performer, tomorrow's family meal for the tiger itself......and yes there was a Simpsons episode with the mauling in it.....good stuff.

Tigers just weren’t meant to be pets. They’re vicious, unmerciful beasts that should not be allowed to have any contact with people at all... just like pit bulls.

HaVoK

Once again you open your mouth to vent your stupidity Mop boy. I have a pit bull and it is the most loyal and gentle dog i have ever had as a pet.

Any animal can be mistreated and in turn become vicious. Pets are almost always a direct extension of their owners.

Mopo where have you been hiding? Your last post was kind of off the wall, Why are you labeling the tiger a vicious, unmercifull beast. Tigers will usually stay to themselfs they are not the big bad monsters that humans make them out to be. It is not the tigers fault that some jacka** put it on a stage. It is not the tigers fault that it can weigh up to 900 lbs but has been shoved into a cage. What the he** are you talking about pit bulls for you obviously have never owned one.

LionelHutz

They picked on Sigfried and Roy quite a bit as I remember, although they never actually named them. There was one episode where the german-accented guys invited some guy up to their hotel room for a "party" and one where they were at the airport lost and found looking at a chart to help identify their missing tiger.

DrewM
10-07-2003, 08:36 PM
They called them Gunter and Ernst in the episodes

LionelHutz

Either you have a very good memory or you've got the episode guides.

DrewM
10-07-2003, 10:14 PM
I looked that up in the guide.

The clip I remember is the lion remembering being captured then mauling them.

God Bless the Simpsons - pure genius

You say that now, but when it turns on you and tries to tear your throat apart you’ll be thinking a little differently… if you survive. Some animals are just naturally malicious creatures and the pit bull is one of them.

I’m just looking at the case from a different perspective. I find it a bit unfair that when a person is cruel to an animal everyone wants to see that person thrown in prison, but when an animal attacks a person nobody cares. I’m a human rights activist, so I have to pay attention to these things.

We, Humans put the animals on the spot. When is the last time you went out to the country and had a bear come up to you and say, take me home I want to be put on a stage, whipped and hit with a chair? Oh don't forget the bear probably wants to ride one of those really small bikes too. 90% of the time it is not an animals fault when they attack they usually have a reason. So 90% of the time it is a humans fault, so who should get the blame? I have been around animals(wild and domestic) all my life and not once have I been attacked, but the few times it came close was because of my stupidity, or someone elses.

DrewM

Tigers were not designed to be doing stage tricks in Vegas with a gay German for no pay.

5500 shows - 1 torn out throat. Sounds like fairly good odds considering.

You can hardly blame the cat.

mad dog
10-09-2003, 09:02 AM
If I had to be on stage with a gay German I would have to get lots of pay :D.

I went to the state fair acouple years back and this guy had kodiak bears(beautifull creature). He did NOT have them do tricks or anything he just went around the country and showed people how big they are and how much power they could deliver without even getting mad. He had them in a building that only allowed a few folks in at a time. It was very educational and the bears actually seemed to be at peace, all he did was tell about bears and how they lived. He even went inside with them to show how big they really are. He was well over 6 foot tall and he looked like a midget. The bears head was the size of his body.

DrewM

It's just a matter of time before the bear rips his head off.

Just got done reading about more stupid folks- Anchorage Alaska 2 people killed by bear. Treadwell a 46 year old was mauled by a bear he was video taping. A girl that was with him, Huguenard 37 was also mauled. On some of treadwells tapes he is seen reaching out and touching wild bears. Lets give these to the dumbarse award while we are at it. 2 or 3 bears have allready been shot because of treadwells stupidity "nice going Einstein, way to help out the bears".

DrewM
10-09-2003, 07:57 PM
Those bears were just doing a good thing for the human genetic pool - they should actually get an 'I increased the average intelligence of the human race' award. Instead they get shot - oh well, not every good deed is rewarded.

Here is another one that happened this week up here in our "smart" city. A guy was attacked by his pet tiger that he kept in his apartment. He also had a 5 foot alligator. He only had minor injury, too bad

Hmmm… looks to me like none of these people were doing anything to deserve being mauled. So the guy was trying to TOUCH the bears. Doesn’t give them the right to attack him, and the girl that was with him wasn’t doing anything. What about those people in Alaska? What were they doing to deserve to die? Face it, some animals are just natural killers. These animals are a threat to all people, and therefore should be done away with.

Surely you are joking right? Bears do not live in the world of "rights". If somebody is stupid enough to get close up to a bear then they assume the risk that the bear might rip their face off if so in the mood to do so. The human is supoosed to be smarter than the bear.

Your argument is like saying all knives should be destroyed because they can kill.

"some animals are just natural killers"

Newsflash - ALL non vegitarian animals are natural killers - it's called eating.

Mopo I hope you are just pulling my leg, these were wild bears doing what they do. The 2 people got killed because they invaded there space. I quess all fire should be done away with, after all if you stick your hand into it you will get burned.

If you are serious then maybe all humans should be done away with, after all we destroy a heck of alot more then any animal ever did.

es347fan

Bears got every right in the world -- to act just like bears. Wild animals. Get it?? Would you expect a rattlesnake to act like anything other than what it is?
Boy, you be dumber than a rock ...

Mopoloton
10-15-2003, 05:44 PM
So, the next time a strange animal comes onto my property I can shoot it because it’s “invading my space?” I’ll have to remember that. What about those salesmen and Jehovah’s Witnesses that are always knocking on my door. Am I allowed to attack them because they’re “invading my space?” Do you think a judge would consider “invading my space” a reasonable defense to an assault charge?

We humans have rules and regulations that we must abide by, yet animals are allowed to do whatever they damn well please. This just doesn’t sound fair to me.

Crazy people are locked away when they commit a violent crime so they can’t hurt anyone else. Why can’t this same rule apply to violent animals?

Either way, some animal ever attacks me I’m going to leave its dead carcass lying in the dirt. I don’t give a damn what kind if instincts it’s following.

That is funny :D :D :D You obviouslly have never been hunting etc... and know little about bears. A bears head is tough they have a thick skull. Take two bears beating the sh** out of each other. They have the power to rip the head off of a deer(with ONE blow) but yet they still can not knock each other out when they pound on each other. Mopo steps in and punches a 500 pound black bear and knocks it out, this sh** is too damn funny :D. Hey Mopo I'll supply the bear you show up and we'll see who gets there arse kicked. We have more then enough bears around me, so if your afraid of the adults maybe we could find one more towards your speed, like a cub :D :D :D

Wow. Please tell me you're kidding about this. If not, I tell you what, go piss off a pit bull....try and knock it out. While it's tearing out your carotid, try to imagine how quickly you would have been beat down if you were attacked by a predator at least 3 times that size (I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're talking about a black bear).

Sure. In fact, I might just rough up Havok’s pet pit, just to see what he says about it.

Honestly, if someone were to get an approval from those fools at PETA, I would gladly square off one on one against a wild animal, and I’d kick its furry ass too. Maybe the event could be televised live. I’d be getting retribution for every person who was ever senselessly attacked by an animal. I’d be a hero!!!!!!!

Mopo come on up here to the great white north, put your money where your head use to be. We don't have to tell anyone, we'll get a camera and I'll take you out and flim you getting your a** ripped off by a black bear. You talk just like city trash that's never even seen a cow?(nothing against city folks) Do you know what a bear looks like? Average weight 300-500lbs(black bear) one slam from the front paw can take the head right off of a deer. They can tear a locked car open in a matter of a few minutes, ripping the metal. This is just a common black bear which do seem to have a nasty temper. I've got an idea lets find a mom with cubs you go up and take one of the little guys and see how far you can get, that would be some funny sh** to see. Well I'll let you go feed your pink elephant now. When your ready let me know........

Some years ago, in the Anchorage, Alaska airport there was a polar bear on display in a glass case. A brass plaque attached to the case gave some info regarding this bear. If memory serves, that critter stood 13' 9", and weighed in at over 1400 pounds.

Go ahead mopo the coward tackle any bear. You're only a legend in your own feeble mind.

500lbs, 1400lbs, makes no difference to me. All I know is I put down some big guys on my old job. If my punches can knock out a 400-pound man they can do the same to a bear. The only reason people are mauled and killed by bears is because they’re usually too afraid to fight back. Not me! To me, fear is just another four-letter word.

People need to realize that the only way to gain these animals’ respect is to stand up to them. Once you show a bear that you’re not one to take any crap, that bear will respect you. Be a cold day in hell before I let any wild animals push me around!!!!
