Lobbyist have a lot of power over law makers and Deomocrats are making ethics a higher priority but is it enough to really make a difference?
I guess it is a start but I think it is kinda of weak and needs to be strengthened.

They call it the most sweeping ethics reform since Watergate, because its the only ethics reform since Watergate.
I noticed there was no mention of stripping the pensions from those Congressmen convicted of crimes (while in office). Another "promise" broken.

yes I am very outraged about this too. I cannot believe that criminals can keep thier pensions. That is just redicoulous.

Republicans, and Democrats, alike, know they are only one investigation away from being convicted, themselves. They don't want to lose their pensions, over what is common practice in Washington politics.

yeah I agree that many of them are breaking laws on a daily basis. I personally think this law with lobbyist should be done by an independent group.. I am not sure how that can be done.
