Every band does that. It's why 90% of an album sounds exactly the same. They also jack from other artists. The new Ozzy single(well I hear Ozzy singing at least) sounds identical to some other song, though I have yet to place exacty what yet. This also reminded me of a comic:

:lolhit: That's pretty neat. You know - hearing the newer song on the radio...it hadn't even registered that they were two different songs.

anyone who listens to mainstream music knows this already. Almost all of their songs sound the same.
I wouldn't consider myself a fan but they do have a few good songs. I guess you can say at least they copy their own music and not someone elses.

it's called having a sound.

First off.. Nickleback sucks
Second.. they do pretty much make the same song over and over...
third.. having a sound means also expirementing with that sound... Bands that DIDN'T expirement i.e. Backstreet boys (same beat behind EVERY song), Disturbed, Sean Paul, etc...

No, it's different from that. Tool had a sound, from Undertow to Lateralus, they were all distinctly and obviously Tool even though each album widely differed from each other. However, their latest album is that "sound" that you're talking about, it sounds nearly identical to Lateralus. When I first heard Vicarious I was thinking, "did somebody cover Schism?" This is just ripping off the success of their previous album.

how many Beatles songs off the same album could you identify without the vocals?

Exactly.
and I like Nickelback, they have some good songs.
In other news, Scott got arrested. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18808900/)

Normally - I'd call you an idiot, or possibly even a tone deaf bafoon for liking that band...though - I must admit...I think the song Rockstar has some lyrical substance.

Nickelback is so bland and uncreative that they're almost almost painful to listen to. Use a simple 4/4 beat, strum the chords during the verses and play power chords during the chorus... they're as bland as boiled chicken without salt or seasoning. Their music is so simple I'm surprised they don't fall asleep playing it.

I do enjoy some Nickelback from time to time.......just as I enjoy most other genres of music.
I think musicians of today really have no talent and if their 1st album does well, they feel the need to top that album and therefore they start doing covers and ripping off their own and others sound. There isn't too much newer music I enjoy,at least not enough to run out and but the whole cd. As an expample,I love Rob Zombie, but I have yet to find more than 3 songs off his Educated Horses cd that I like enough to go buy it

Yeah - they try to appeal to the pop music world too much.
The only songs I liked were 'Never Again' and 'Figured You Out' - they seemed more original.

"Because of you" and "Never Again" are my only two favorite songs by them. I will admit that "Rockstar" is a good karaoke song...otherwise, someone needs to send that site to these guys...show them that their music sounds the same.

You are right silverbulletkc - but I doubt if they will care - 'cause they're making money anyway - that's their main goal it seems. I like rock bands that stick with PURE ROCK -and not venture over to the pop world just to make a fast buck - and that's what Nickleback does.

Oh I know they won't care. They'll just throw it away and continue wiping their asses with Canadian and American money...not to mention writing sappy, crappy music.
