Every planet in our solar system "along with its assigned moons", have all been given names by either NASA, or some other type os space agency. Somewhere along the lines of time, someone gave our moon a name too, but I can't seem to remember it at the present moment. Does anyone here know what it is?

In case you're wondering, the sun's name is "Sol". :)

Haha, the only reason I knew 'sol' and 'luna' was because of Escape Velocity. Such an awesome game.

Luna is the Spanish word for Moon, where do you think the word "lunatic" comes from?
Sol is the Spanish word for Sun...

Now if you say "Stella Solaris"... "Alpha Centauri" ...

What name you give the moon depends on where you live. Many call the moon Selene from the Greek name for the moon. Luna is the name given by those whose language comes from Latin. The word moon itself is of Germanic origin.
