But it's not OK with the Rev. Louis Coleman with Louisville's Justice Resource Center. He says Ruby's refusal to serve Simpson violates the Public Accommodation Law. Coleman has sent a letter to the Louisville Human Relations Commission alleging racial discrimination, and asking the commission file an official complaint against the restaurant.

"We just feel that actions should be taken against this owner, so that this cannot be done to any other human being," Coleman said. He and several other people picketed the restaurant on Wednesday.

It is against the law to refuse to serve a customer based on race, but Emily Riggshartlage, an attorney with the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights says there are situations when a business owner can legally decline to serve someone.

"A business owner can refuse service if it's based on a personal reason," Riggshartlage said, "as long as the refusal of service is not based on race, color, national origin, religion or disability."

Can't find the page but even without reading it, it is obvious that this is a bogus ploy to extort money from Mr. Ruby. OJ was not kicked out because he is black but because he is a slimey son of a bitch who should be shunned by the rest of the world. If Mr. Ruby kicked out other blacks simply because they were black he would have been called on to answer for it long before this. OJ Simpson is a shameless piece of crap who should be ostracized by society.

well they have to prove it was racism. I do not think they can prove that since many people who are black were being served that day at the restaurant. I do not know if any black will defend him because it seems the only reason OJ got off was because he was black and so many black were going to riot.
He made it very clear to the media that it was because of OJ negative publicity that he would not serve him. I am sure he can use that as his defense.
I think he has a right to defend the name of his restaurant by not letting someone like OJ in his restaurants.

Because it works. O.J. is a good example. The victim's (ex-wife who he had a very violent history with) blood was on his socks and in his SUV. O.J., who had sustained a cut from the incident, left blood at the scene of the murder. He also purchased a foot long knife a month before the murder. What else...foot prints at the scene were the same size as O.J.'s (a pretty large foot print) and the bloody glove at the scene was a rare kind of glove that his ex-wife had bought for him. His Ex-wife kept a diary and will in a safe depososit box because she was afraid he would kill her. Oh yeah, he ran from the police in a nationally-publicized car chase when he realized they were going to arrest him for the murder.

He claimed he was set up by the racist police force, and was found not guilty.
