Not bad King herods tomb was finally found. And he died four years before Jesus was even born. But it must have been a rather energetic death since the bible records that He ordered all boys two years and under killed so that he might kill Jesus. Not bad for a dead guy.

4 years before Jesus was born? No doubt in your mind that Jesus must have been born in 0 B.C, because you know, his name is there so it must be true.

The year of Christ's birth
Jesus wasn't born in A.D. 0 either. In 525 Pope John I commissioned the scholar Dionysius Exiguus to establish a feast calendar for the Church.. Dionysius also estimated the year of Christ's birth based upon the founding of the city of Rome. Unfortunately because of insufficient historical data he arrived at a date at least a few years later than the actual event.

The Gospels record Jesus' birth as occurring during the reign of Herod the Great. Herod's death is recorded by Jewish historian Flavius Josephus (Antiquities of the Jews, Josephus, Book 17, Chpt. 8) and occurred in the spring of 4 B.C. (New Testament History, F.F. Bruce, Anchor Books, p.23). Therefore, Christ's birth had to take place at least four years before the traditional date!

Jesus was not born on December 25, A.D. 0. [Actually there is no such year as A.D. 0. Our calendar jumps from 1 B.C. to A.D. 1 with no intervening year of zero.]

If the god of the Xtians was born in 4 B.C., then everything we are being told --as it concerns which year "BC" it is-- about the calendar system is based on a mistake. The year following would not have been --should not have been-- 3 BC, but 1 AD.

ROTFL.

Considering how absurd so many other claims concerning that religion are, I am not surprised in the least.

I have no doubts that the Bible has many errors, contradictions, and inconsitancies. That it is simply a book written by people to push their agenda's and priorities and has little if anything to actually do with God. So yes I believe that Herod was dead before Jesus was born, and Yes I believe the whole story of the killing of Two year olds and younger was a lie created by the apostles.

And of course the whole census thing which put Jesus into bethlahem is a farce.

Unfortunately the gospels have little validation for me. I have proven the apostles were liars at best and decievers at worst. The Gospels could give me an area code and phone number for God himself and I would still discount it. The apostles were liars nothing more.

Jesus being born after Herod's death is impossible being that the only statement of the time of Jesus's birth is "during the time of King Herod"(Matt 2:1). Therefore the only incorrectness is when they assumed when King Herod ruled, since AD and BC were not determined until over 500 years after Jesus lived.
