Cut the kid some slack. This is really important to him at this time. At least he's not talking about Rosie or Madonna.

OSU!
Seem's a little odd that you would pick a place where there's nothing but beavers. :lolhit:

So I'm thinking about either a quad, dorm or apartment.
Suggestions?

Im going dorms, but a single. That way I get to be around a ton of people, but I have my own space.

i want a single too

Sure you want a single but so do almost all incoming freshmen. There are only so many singles and freshmen rarely get to live in one. Most freshmen live in either doubles or triples.

Well that sure put a positive spin on my plans. Lord.
Clearly, I know that there is only a limited amount of single dorms and that most freshmen stay in doubles or triples. Which is why I'm considering getting a quad or an apartment, if I don't get a single since it is so unlikely. :)

I tried the apartment situation this year. It was fun at first because there were 4 of us - and one of us was a hot girl that always wore a towel around the apartment...but as soon as rent came the first month everyone belled but another guy and me.
We have had to struggle to pay rent since.

Yeah, you don't want to get an apartment unless you know the other people pretty well. The nice thing about dorms is that if you're stuck with a complete ass you can switch to a new room.

I don't know, Lionel. I wouldn't necessarily say that you should prefer getting an apartment with strangers to getting one with people you know - but like in my situation - we all knew each other...and that gave the others reason to believe they could walk out on the lease.
The one problem that I've always had with getting a dorm with someone that I don't know is leaving my shit behind with them. I'm not going to leave a computer, tv, I-pod, and cell phone lying around so that some prick can take it down to the pawn shop for some alcohol money.

All you need is a lockable footlocker. You keep you valuables in it when you are not arouind.
Dorm life is actually more conducive to learning. You usually have accessto the internet. There are study groups available. You are closer to the library. Apartment living might sound like fun but other than being able to throw a party (and being held responsible for any damage) there are few advantaqges to it. You are further from classes and everything else on campus.
I lived both ways on campus and dorm life was better.

I think I'm going to stay in a quad which is the best of both worlds.
