I thinks its time we had somewhere were we can debate soccer or football as the world calls it, so once your in please refer to it as football.

Not sure how to run with this so patients please.

I being a life long Manchester United fan will focus on them,
the Premirship and Champions League, but football anywhere will do.

Tonite Man Utd take on the might of AC Milan at Old Trafford, with most of they're defence out thru injury, as long as Milan dont get an away goal, Iwill be happy enough with a draw.

mmm. I wonder. Lets see

Football is the most popular game on the planet, by a long long way. It's huge in almost every country on earth.

American Football is not even No.2 - it's not even close. Cricket is more popular than American football. American Football is an American sport.

The name for soccer is Football. Soccer is just some name Americans invented.

If you want pansies look no further than American football - most of the players are overweight slobs, they play for 2 mins a game, and they have so much padding they would be ok if a train hit them.

In the average football game - the players run over 10 Kilometers. Try that with the average American football player - most would die of heart attack.

The sad thing is Americans haven't really been exposed to Football because all sports in the US are run and controlled by media spending. There's no place for a sport that doesn't stop every 20 seconds for 5 mins of ads.

For all of you that have been robbed of the beautiful game called Football that most people on the planet are FANATICAL about (afterall almost 5 billion supporters cannot be wrong) - my condolences., it truly is a loss the extent of which you will never understand.

Soccer is the world's most popular sport for some very good reasons.

1. You con't have to be overly tall or a musclebound exomorph to play it.

2. You don't need a lot of specialized equipment to play it, just a ball and some open ground.

3. It doesn't require a huge stadium, an open field at the edge of town will do.

4. The rules are simple and straight forward.

I have never understood why Americans and Canadians have not taken to the sport more.

Saw most of the second half on ESPN2...I really thought Liverpool was outplaying them second half but they just couldn't get the ball in the net. Gerrard had a really nice volley attempt but Cech made a great save.

And not only that, you should see how mean the WOMEN fans are.

As a matter of fact, after every Browns loss, I entertain myself by terrorizing our neighbors. Over the years, I've uprooted flowers, vandalized mailboxes, thrown rocks, and personally driven the ice cream truck away, besides spraypainting rude remarks and setting various small fires.

It won't be long before the entire county looks like a missile site.

What can I say?

All part of the fun of being a football fan.

Thats funny. I don't like rugby, but lets face reality here - in rugby there is no stupid padding, helmets, breaks every 20 seconds. The only protection they have is to wrap electrical tape around their heads to stop their ears being pulled off. American football is a pansy game, just look at all the pathetic gear they wear. If they played it without pads, without breaks every few seconds then we could call it a real game, until then like most of the planet beyond the US knows - it's hardly something that could be considered a real sport. It's nothing but a media platform for gullible Americans.

After the worst possable start, Manchester United seen themselves 2-0 down by half time against Everton at Goodison Park this morning.
At the same time,Chelsea, the champions were playing Bolton and ahead at half time, the tension was fantastic with just 2 points seperating the top 2 teams:

ManU were 3 points ahead - have been since the 2-1 loss at Portsmouth (not 2) and now they are 5 points ahead

They were showing the ManU score at the Chelsea game until it was 2-2 and then they took it off the big screen.

I think Manu has clinched it now, I just hope Chelski get beaten by Liverpool in the C-League this week. I'd like to see the "special one" crushed by defeat - that guy is way too arrogant, he might be a half decent manager, but come on, he has the most expensive football team ever assembled. Put him in charge of a mid-table team and see him take it to the top & then I'll be impressed. ManU may be a rich club with expensive players, but they have a long history of success and they build success, its not a buy success the chelski way.

I'd like to see you playing, lets say... just to start, against a team of 15 to 17 year old kids who have played at school or in the streets, and sometimes without shoes 'cause they are too poor to use their school shoes or their tennis shoes (if they are lucky to have 'em). You will never get a chance to even see the ball, not to mention that you won't get to kick it not even once during the whole game... If I bring into the US such a team of kids, a group of kids of the same age or a little older born in the US will not have a chance either. If it is too easy, then try playing...
Just check in the Internet when PELE was in the World Cup of 1958 in Sweden he was only 17 years, and he and his team won that Football World Cup.

For a team that scored 22 goals in all competitions in April it was dire.
Wait to you hear what I have to stick from the Liverpool boys in work tomorrow.

Today at Eastlands,

Manchester City 0 1 Manchester United

In a scrappy derby match United just edged it,even tho City were awarded a very dodgey penalty, which Vassell fired strait at van der Saar in the United goal.
This result leaves United 8 points clear with 3 to play.
Tomorrow Arsenal v Chelsea at 4pm
If Chelsea do not win United become champions.
Chelsea v Manchester United 8pm Wednesday.

the season seems tainted now after that thrashing by AC Milan. If it had been close it would have been better but AC Milan made them look like a pub side. Hopefully Chelsea draw or lose tomorrow

Ronaldinho, of FC Barcelona and Brazil, is arguably the worlds best player.
I found these pics of his modest house on the costas north of Barcelona.

AC Milan really stole that game IMO. Liverpool totally dominated the first half, Alonso was everywhere, (too bad that foul ruined the game for him) Milan's first goal was questionable, I thought it was fair when I saw it live but after watching the replay he might have gotten too much arm.

Crouch should have been in the game much quicker than the 75th minute, hell I probably would have had him start the second half.

Yeah Crouch should have been on earlier, I though Pennant played well but his passing let him down.
Harry Kewell should be put on next plane to Sydney.

What'd you think about Inzaghi's first goal? Handball or legit?

Well he was backing off, trying to avoid contact with it, but Liverpool had a good case, the keeper was stranded.
