I read a newspaper article last year that said magic mushrooms were gaining medical respect because they can easily fight depression. It still said not to use them though.

Sigmund Freud used cocaine to fight depression but when he found out how dangerous it was he stopped...

Cocaine's not a "psychodillic." It's a stimulant.

yes I know this I brought it up because someone refered to giving drugs because of depression.
I think it is strange that one of the founders of pyschology used cocaine for depression.

I don't think it's strange at all, especially if he didn't know the physical dangers.

There is absolutely no feeling in this world like a coke high.

Timothy Leary's original research was quite interesting. He found that some (about 1/3 if I remember correctly) of people hospitalized with visual and auditory hallucinations stopped hallucinating when they were given LSD. This effect lasted for a limited time, and then they began hallucinating again. This suggests that there are receptor sites in the brain for a natural chemical that LSD can also react with. One of the strongest indicators of this is the minute doses of LSD needed to cause it's effects.
I have long thought that an interesting experiment would be to prepare LSD with a radioactive marker so the site it reacts with could be located. This would be the first step in finding the natural substance it mimics. This could offer a treatment for some people that would be relatively free of side effects, and would allow them to have a relatively normal life.

Everyone should go on a shroom trip once in their life.

Interesting. My doctor talked to me about this recently. Then again, my doctor is a giant flying cow-god named Ergnap...

I'd like to choose the way to improvement atmosphere and philosophy of the patient on mental illness.
Because of anyone who has mental illness acts something strange, forwardness by drug would be nuisance. Activeness must be with responsibility and rationality. Rationality on philosophy leads to decrease mental illness.
