Fellow baseball fans, the season is underway.
How's your team doing and what are your predictions for this year?
It's early as yet but the Sox are struggling. Our record as of today is 8-7. Ozzie the Calm has claimed that we scored too many runs via the long ball last year and wants a return to small ball.
Buehrle pitched a no-hitter the other day. He was one walk away from a perfect game!

Few weeks late but yeah, go Braves. 11-5
Time to start the streak over. But this time around I hope we actually win more than one series in those 14 straight NL East wins.

Go Cubs! 6-10, last place.
Go Rays! 6-10, last place.
Why can't my teams ever win? :(

A more accurate post tittle:
"Baseball, The US passtime"
A more accurate competition:
Baseball and it's "National Series".

Man do I feel you on that one. It's tough being a Cubs fan. Although with today's win and the losing streaks by the Cards and Pirates - we're now up to 4th of 6.
Go Rays! 6-10, last place.
Also up to 7-10 now. Still in last place though.
Why can't my teams ever win? :(
One is cursed. The other are the Devil Rays.
Wow, Borg, Lou Piniella follows you everywhere you go, huh?:p

A more prudent position for "Liberal" to take:
"If you don't like it, don't look at it."
Incidentally, by "national" it was, indeed, implied that the nation was the United States. This board is comprised primarily of Americans. Or didn't you notice?

Americans, of what country?... Or for all of them....

You really are pedantic, aren't you? You know exactly what I meant.

Anyone but the Yankees. Preferrably the crimson footcoats.
Or the Astros. Don't make fun of me. :P

It's my opinion that Baseball is not the REAL "national pastime" anymore, but only by label.
the REAL national pastime is football...
BUT...
I am a yankee hater, they are ruining the game with them buying all the talent. What makes it that much sweeter is that they havn't won jack in like 6 years of 200 million dollar payrolls LMAO.
This year, Arod is on fire, just "blazing" as ricky williams would say....
However, I"ll be cheering for the Indians first, then the Red Sox to beat the Yanks.

AL Central is really screwed this year. It's so stacked everyone in the division will just kill each others record. The Yankees/Red Sox are both good enough that the loser of that division will probably get the wild card.

The winner of this years' Series will come out of the AL Central.
Of course, I said that LAST year and look what happened. Pay me no mind.
PS Since my last post, the sox have turned it around to 10-8. This after I slmmed them. See how capricious the baseball gods are?

Yea, You could say that there are 4 playoff teams from the AL central, 2 from the East, and 1-2 from the west... which is why they should open up the freakin playoffs to at least 6 teams.. 4 teams is dumb.

6 teams would be too awkward.

The NFL has done it for a while now.
