Is anyone out there familiar with Billy the Kid, gunfighter, cattle rustler, outlaw, who died at age 21, shot by Pat Garrett, and who supposedly killed a man for every year of his life?

There's a gentleman who comes in our library doing research on Billy with a startling new theory--that Billy, aka Henry McCarty, aka Henry Atrim, aka Wm H Bonney, had strong Hoosier ties and may have spent some years in Indianapolis. Census records appear to bear this out.

Interesting new theory--more to add to the Kid lore. Very little is actually known about this man.

Well, he had a poor diet and was probably malnourished, like many people were back then.

A little known historical fact is that George Washington was actually a midget. This is something you'll never learn in most history books.
