I admit it.
I was wrong.
I don't really care about the plight of the poor.
I really do think that corporate profits are the best thing for our country and we should do everything we can, make any sacrifice necessary, to maximize their profits.
I think our Government is corrupt, can't be trusted and can't micromanage anything well, except the US Military which is the greatest in the world.
I think wealthy Americans will one day soon step up and start helping out the poor and needy in our country.
George W. Bush was right to invade Iraq because of 9-11 and we are fighting the war on terror by occupying Iraq.
And anybody who questions any of this is Un-American, dammit.

WAIT!!!!....to be a true Republican convert, you also need to adhere rigidly to all the following additional beliefs;
That global warming and tobacco’s link to cancer are 'junk science', but creationism should be taught in schools.
That the best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans’ benefits and combat pay.
That group sex and drug use are degenerate sins unless you someday run for governor of California as a Republican.
That if condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won’t have sex.
That providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, while providing health care to the American Public is socialism.
That Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush’s daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a “we can’t find Bin Laden” diversion.
That Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.
That the United States should get out of the United Nations, but our highest national priority is enforcing U. N. resolutions against Iraq.
That “Standing Tall for America” means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India.
That a woman can’t be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all
mankind without regulation.
That being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you’re a conservative radio host. Then it’s an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

FT: "I know I care about that."
Dharma: "Do me."

Instead of the incredibly insightful, pontificating political hack he is now, eh? Ooh, tough choice...
Give me inane platitudes for 1000, Alex.
He started this thread with a barrage of nonsensical garbage that had no point, whatsoever...
Who is....?
::beep, beep, beep::
The correct response was who is Dharmabum. Sorry.
I'll take mindless zombies for 400, please....
This man, known by many for his linguistic skills, is...

Who is Noam Chomsky?

If I had to pick the one person who is as far away from a *mindless zombie* as humanly possible, Noam Chomsky would be likely be my choice. Gore Vidal would be a close second.

Not removed, dharma, FREED! No longer trapped by liberal dogma.

Good post thing, Prae.

No, that is what happens what you abandon the soul-sucking godlessness of Conservatism and embrace an enlightened liberal philosophy.
One does not "Free" their soul by adopting a philosophy of "fuck the poor".

I know - it was a joke. Noam's surely a genius when the topic of conversation is linguistics, but, politically speaking, he's purely fucked 6 ways of the weekend. Can you say, "ultra-whacko"....? How 'bout, "revisionist historian"?

Care to cite any specific examples?
I have read a couple of Mr. Chomsky's books and I find him very knowledgable about politics.
