Deleting files can take forever

Windows Vista suffers from a bug that causes many machines to stall while deleting, copying and moving files, a flaw that has provoked consternation in online forums.
......According to a thread on Microsoft's TechNet site, Microsoft has issued a hotfix for the problem, but it has failed to quell the outrage. For one thing, individual users must get Microsoft's approval before the fix can be downloaded, according to our tipster. And for another, hotfixes are more of a pain to install than patches. Every new OS has problems when it first comes out. Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista, all of them. Thats why you dont ever buy them like the first 6months to year after they come out. They have to work out all the bugs first.

the Mac OS has a few minor hiccups when theres a major upgrade, but nothing compared to the magnitude of Microsoft's screwups.

You cant really blame them that much though, the world of the PC is much more vast than that of the Mac. There is so much that Microsoft has to incorporate that its impossible to get it on the first go around.

If someone initiated a little more control over the hardware standards and protocols used in PC hardware, Microsoft wouldnt have near the problems it has now with Vista.
Microsoft has it's hands full with such a complex operating system, and making it work with every hardware combination possible. If all the hardware was the same, then you could write for one and have it work on all.
And Microsoft isnt the only one loosing hair over this. Just about every decent software manufacturer (term used loosely) out there is having problems getting their stuff to run in Vista.
This is only my opinion, and all you technogeeks can tell me to go pound sand if you feel the need to.

I do agree that it is better not to hurry trying new OS and if can't wait until most of the teething troubles are solved, then consider installing it as an adventure and don't depend on it.I am sure that eventually MS will get all problems sorted out.
thanks.

Ok, well I bought a new computer a couple weeks ago. A damn nice laptop at that, and it has Vista. No problems at all so far.

Vista is pretty nice - I have no issues with it, I even went out & bought it.
I have a mac too and OS X is pretty nice as well, well thought out, but I'd have to say that Vista is quite a bit better than OS X
