Rush is putting out a new album, on May 1st, called Snakes and Arrows. They're also going on tour for it! I'm so fucking going when they hit Chicago...I'll find that out on Monday. But fellow Rush fans...these are exciting times.
Yee haw!

I was flipping through the stations on the way home from work the other day and I heard a guitar chord fading out and then the DJ came on and said it was a new song by Rush. Dammit! Suffice it to say, I'm looking forward to it.
I've seen them in concert three times - a great show every time, although they tend not to vary much each time.

I love Rush! But I must admit I've never heard their stuff past the 80s. Now I imagine Neil takes Celebrex and Geddy has a low voice, almost as low as a man's.

The new single is called Far Cry, and you can listen to the whole thing on rush.com, just hit the Play button. I have the MP3, too.
I'm definitely buying the CD once it's out.

I like Rush... some of my favs include
Roll the Bones
Spirit of the Radio
Subdivisions
Tom Sawyer
YYZ
They have their own sound.. the use of electrical/industrial sound with the slappy, busy bass guitar gives them away, which makes them a band that deserves the recognition and fame they have acquired.

I love Rush. I have seen them so many times in concert I'm really not sure how many. Maybe 16 or 17. The first time I saw them was in Corpus Christi,Texas on the Fly by Night tour. They are always great live!!!. There coming to northern california in August and I plan on going.

If you've ever listened to a classic rock station for about five minutes you'd have heard one of these:
Tom Sawyer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNZru4JG_Uo)
Freewill (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9z5U8jRdjA)
Limelight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQdDmekW6Wg&mode=related&search=)
The Spirit of Radio (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIClgfjMBys&mode=related&search=)

The first Rush song I ever heard was Freewill, on 102.5 The Bone, Tampa Bay's classic rock station, with 52 minute music hours, and the fewest commercials, guaranteed. Yes, I remember their entire tagline thing. It's pretty sad.

I really haven't...and for some reason like most people that I'm talking to in real life haven't heard of them either. One guy said hes heard of them but doesnt know what they sing.
This is very weird.

I don't consider Rush to be industrial. Progressive Rock would be a better description. Ministry,My life with the thrill kill kult, Skinny Puppy-that's industrial!!!

Hmmm, well, you and my wife are in the same club. Of course she's heard of them now. She does a non-very-flattering Geddy Lee imitation.

Actually you're thinking No Scrotum Man.
No Penis Man is just a sad sack, No Scrotum Man is a sad sack with, in the words of a Chinese emperor talking about his eunuch slaves, "voice like birds."

I'm a long time Rush fan. The first music my son ever heard was Rush, played very softly in his room the day he came home from the hospital in Dec '81. The year of his 15th birthday, Rush came to our town & I took him. Was really great - lots of guys right around my age, and a whole lot of kids. About halfway through the concert all the "old guys" are on their feet yelling & carrying on while the kids are clutching at their sleeves crying "...dad ... sit down!! You're embarassing me ... daddddd!!" - even the kops were rocking right along. Was a really great concert.

I went to see Rush this past wednesday(August 1). They played outdoors in Mountain View,California(near San Jose). They put on an excellent show. And they had all these video screens with camera angles on the members in the band. I especially liked the camera angle from above the drummer. Who was simply amazing and did a killer drum solo. This was like my 16th or 17th time to see them in concert and they never cease to amaze me how good they are live. They are playing another show tonight in San Francisco bay area in Concord(I saw them last tour there). I hope everybody gets to see them if they are coming to your city! :woohoo:

I love Rush and all, but if they keep putting out these double and triple live CDs I'm going to go bankrupt.
