Well the NCAA tournament brackets are out. The Wisconsin Badgers fell to a number 2 seed with a loss to Ohio State today, and it is apparent how much the loss of Center Brian Butch has hurt them. They are still a good team, but not as dominating as they were. They could still advance fairly deep into the tournament, and with a little luck perhaps even be around when Butch returns. That is possible by the Final 4 weekend, although that may be optomistic. Still optomism is what it is about. The first round ought to be easy against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, but then there are no bad teams in the tournament.

IU plays Gonzaga in the West bracket. The number one seed there is Kansas, Puke is also in this bracket.
Why do we always get stuck with Puke?
I doubt we last thru the first round but you have to give credit to Coach Samson, first year coach. It's unfortunate we can't win on the road this year which is why I'm predicting a first round loss.
The Big Ten has 6 teams in--go BT!
Also go Texas Tech and the General, Robert Montgomery Knight, who I'd vote for for president.
I'd also pay a year's salary for just one more Knight-Puke matchup, Ed Valentine officiating. My god, that would be the most incredible fireworks display since the gladiator bouts.
Let the fun begin.

There is probably no sport I have less use for than basketball. I've yet, in all my 55+ years watched an entire game.

I just wish we could watch ESPN and not have 90 analysts make a point on why EVERY TEAM will make it to the sweet 16. Honestly... the populace should stop watching this pre-game analysis. These "analysts" are CLINGING to their jobs.. trying to say "who they like" and "who could win"...
well gee... here is a funny thought..
WHY DON'T WE JUST WAIT UNTIL THE GAMES ARE PLAYED AND WE WILL SEE WHO WINS!!!

Every year I'm impressed with the great job the selection committee does in deciding the matchups. I can't recall very many blowouts in all my years of watching this thing....and look out for the 7, 8 and 9 seeds.
Also Southern Illinois could be a real Cinderella team this year.... and Butler, small school from Indianapolis, number 5 seed. My state has 4 teams in!

mu ha ha ha...
no.. chances are you will win the 1 vs. 16 match up.. but i'll rub it in your face for ever if I win.
As for going somewhere.. Kansas is, IMO, the lamest #1 seed in a long time. I have Pitt, Florida, Ohio State, and Georgetown in the final four, Florida and Georgetown in the final, and Florida winning it.. again.

Texas Tech just lost to BC by 9 points. Adios to Coach Knight and the boys.
He needs to get more Indiana high school boys on that team.
Decka, if Florda loses Big Baby again it's all over. We know how physical the Big Ten is--I can see Ohio State manhandling them good, or any other BT team.

Well, Wisconsin got by Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Not a pretty game in the first half, but they recovered well in the second half. I can only think they failed to take the game seriously until halftime. Hopefully they got that out of their system.

The IU- UCLA gme yesterday was just plain ugly.
We couldn't BUY a bucket.
Still, we made a game of it at the end.
Hoping now Butler/Milam goes all the way.
That skinny little Butler kid can play and resembles baskeball players of old before they steroided themselves to 300 plus football linemen.

Wisconsin screwed up again today. They gave up a big lead in the first half again, but UNLV made them pay for it.

When I made out my bracket, I worked under the assumption that all of the Big Ten teams would screw up prematurely. Wisconsin screwed up even more prematurely than I expected. Otherwise, my strategy is working out fairly well.

Butler plays you guys next..look out for them!
A. J. Graves is a scoring machine and he's so little and skinny, no one can guard him.
Should be a great game.
Let's win this for all the little schools...---"Hoosiers"

Wow, Kansas barely squeaked by Southern Illinois last night, and Ohio State was in a close one too--this is why they call in "March Madness".
Can't wait for the Butler game tonite.

Georgetown beating UNC was AMAZING. One of the best games I have seen.
I am hoping Georgetown can make it all the way. : )

Ohio State will give them a run for their money. It could even work out as a reverse result of what happened in football. All the experts pick Florida and Ohio State puts a hurt on them.
