This story is real touching. It is about a woman in Florida who had very serious damage done to her house by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. She lost power during the hurricane and she was without electric power for almost 15 years.

Following the hurricane she became victim to dishonest contrator who did not finish the work. She ran out of money. Her house was not up to code and she had no electricity. She was without electric power from August 24, 1992 until February 16, 2007.

An electrical contractor did repair work without charge in order to make it possible for her to once again have electricity and volunteers will be helping to repair her house.

Heh, yeah saw that one. I went without power for quite a while back a couple years ago when we had 4 storms cross florida in a month and a half. It was hot and muggy, eww. Was really hard to sleep. Anyways, I cant imagine going 15 years.

In 15 years even working at McDonalds you could practically buy a house.

Just shows how life has changed over the years. When Florida was first settled no-one had electricity.
If the Kyoto enthusiasts had their way, we would all return to those "good old days" :)
