I tried for almost two days to log onto Allforums and got nothing but a, service unavailable, message. What happened?

It wasn't almost two days. It was less than 24 hours.

I presume it's a problem with Windows, on which the Allforums server is based. A 503 on a Windows server generally indicates a problem with the application pool. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823552
