Man burns homes fighting wasps
Tuesday, August 26, 2003 Posted: 1641 GMT (12:41 AM HKT)
ZURICH, Switzerland (Reuters) -- A man who tried to fight bothersome wasps with insect spray and a cigarette lighter burned down his apartment and two neighboring flats, Swiss police said.
A police spokesman said on Tuesday that the man used a whole can of insect spray on a wasp nest underneath an overhanging roof outside his apartment.
When he tried to fend off the angry wasps with his lighter, the fumes ignited and set the flats ablaze.
No one in the apartment block was hurt, but the blaze caused 500,000 Swiss francs ($351,400) in damage.

The wasps will be back living there before he will.

You would have animal rights activists filing lawsuits on behalf of the wasps. Then they would try to stop them from rebuilding on the site for fear of more wasps being hurt or killed.

A while ago there was a mountain lion that attacked a hiker. The lion was captured. Funds were set up to help both the lion and the hiker and the lion easily took in more money. This was California, of course.

Good; The current state of our environmental concern is destructive, nauseating, and immoral.

There was also another story in the news not to long ago about a snake. There was a rattle snake on a hiking trail, a women started screaming, a guy came over to see a snake going after her child. He pushed the snake back with a stick but the snake figured it would just go right back after the people. So he cut its head off. He might have to do jail time plus they took his truck and fined the sh** out of his arse. Quess who called the authorities, The dumb a** lady, and she testified that the man killed the snake. Next time maybe he won't bother helping someone in distress.

Or for that matter, how could anyone think about pressing charges in the first place?

OK, so what you're telling me is that you don't use electricity, you don't drive a car (or ride a bike using metals that were mined or processed), mow your lawn if you have one, use products with non-recyclable packaging, etc., etc? We all pollute pretty much by just existing. I'm sick of environmentalist loonies pretending that they're better than everyone else because they make the grand gesture of buying a Toyota Prius when they pretty much live the rest of the life like everyone else.
