Found this cool piece of software and thought of you guys straight away!!

If you cant over-clock your board, try and raise the FSB instead!!

A friend was running at 1000Mhz at 100FSB. He is now running at 1200Mhz at 120FSB. With just a 200Mhz increase he can definetly tell the difference.. Like a NEW pc all together!!

He did say it affected his on-board sound though (I dunno to what extent (Might require some tweaking))

Oh god...don't do this unless you know what you're doing. Fucking with your FSB is fucking with your main memory...overclock too much and you could freeze things in a giant hurry.

Oh yeah!!

Extreme caution should always be observed!

Most motherboards let you change the FSB in BIOS. This is how most overclocking is done because the multipliers on CPUs are usually locked these days. A good motherboard will let you overclock the FSB while letting you set the pci, agp, and memory bus speeds separately. You should see http://hardocp.com before you try it.

Onboard soundcards usually get screwed up when the voltage is changed, less so when just the FSB is increased. Since he was using a software overclocker(a ridiculously bad idea, OC in general is usually a bad idea, and it's worse when you let some peice of software do it instead of setting it yourself in the BIOS) it probably raised the voltage as well as the FSB, though the voltage might have needed to be increased regardless because of the amount the board was overclocked, depends on the processor.
