I was wondering if Darwinists believe that Darwins comon ancestor theory show s that there is no god. I ask this because the main argument agaisnt intelligent design is that it is a religious belief. BUt, at the same time athiests always like to use darwins theory as their evidence that god does not exist. If this is the case, how is evolution any less "religious" then ID?

I don't believe the theory of Evolution speaks to the question of whether or not there's a God. Evolution is the process of life changing from simple forms to more complex ones, but doen't address how life originated. The reason that Evolution and religion clash is because the Christian Bible contains passages that have been interpreted by the religious as precluding evolution, rather than your statement which seems to say that Evolution precludes the existence of God.

Evolution, in no way, proves or disproves the existance of a divine being.
Having said that, evolutionary theory can be used as evidence against a literal reading of Genesis.

It doesn't prove that there is no "god." Nothing really can prove that since, in theory, god (at least the Christian god) is all powerful, so a Christian can always say "God works in mysterious ways!"
It does, however, weaken the bible-thumping Christian literalists' perspective, because Evolution indicates that man was not created overnight.

I believe in God and in evolution. I suppose it's different because I'm not Christian, Jewish, or Muslim, so I don't believe in the Bible.

I've never heard of anyone using this argument. Mainly because it's entirely possible that God compelled the evolution of species, or he created the universe and evolution just happened. The existence of a god is by no means threatened by the theory of evolution, nor are all evolutionists atheists.
