an Escalade with a Hemi?

That doesn't make any sense at all. What does Chrysler have that GM doesn't already have? Minivans, I guess, but that's hardly worth buying that trainwreck right when GM is starting to make some headway out of its problems.

What's Lee Iacocca doing these days? Chrysler would have died long ago were it not for him. How they ever gussied up that company to unload it on the Germans is beyond me, and probably one of the better snow jobs of the last century.

I bet Earnhardt is rolling over in his grave.

Well, at least Chrysler would be semi-American made again.

It was hoped that the infusion of German attention to quality and technology coupled with Chrysler's ability to bring new models to the sales floor quickly would put more product in the driveways of American homes. It just didn't happen. Unfortunately, Chrysler may have to go tits up for real this time around. I just hope they have the good sense to jettison Jeep before sinking into oblivion. Mitsubushi has already distanced itself. The buzzards are circling.

It is my understanding that Chrysler is doing pretty well when compared to Ford and GM.

Never owned a Chrysler product. Have looked at plenty of them over the years, never wanted one.

Mitsubushi has already distanced itself.

Actually, they distanced themselves from Mitsubishi a few years ago when Mitsubishi was tanking.

It is my understanding that Chrysler is doing pretty well when compared to Ford and GM.

They were making money hand over fist a few years ago, but they're in deep sh*t now. I'm not quite sure what caused the change other than people don't like the new models. Anyway, GM's doing much better lately, Ford's still in trouble, and Chrysler's sinking.

i've never noticed a quailty problem with Chrysler products-they always started at the railyard, unlike GMs...and Fords. the main complaint i've heard was the DCX was bleeding Chrysler dry to prop up Mercedes & Freightliner (and don't get me started on the QC issues with DCX's big trucks:rolleyes:).

the Charger-the only car on the market fit to be used as a service vehicle.

i had a Volvo 670 pulled out of a sand dune by a Dakota once. my helper missed a turn and tried to turn around w/o waking me up...he found out deserts are made out of sand:lolhit:

then there's the Jeep, it has a cult all it's own for good reason. it's cheap, reliable, easy to maintain, and frequently rescues H2s.

it was a sweet lil ride the last time around...it did 135mph off the showroom floor, but Mitsu front ends just don't handle Michigan roads well. i've replaced every part on the front suspension, twice on the right side.

Dodge's new Avenger looks good, but the name is wrong. "Avenger" is just too aggressive for a entry level soccer mom mobile...and they need to fire there marketing department. it's been on showroom floors for 2 weeks and i have yet to even see a TV ad.

hehe thank god for small blessings.
I own all GMC and always have, my cousin works there and so that is how it started but I like the GMC vehicles...I had a grandam and loved it. That car never failed me the went to a sunfire for better gas and my Blazer was a gasaholic. hehe Then my brother decided to cure me of that vehicle.
I had a ford once and it lived up to its name Found On Road Dead....oops sorry but never liked ford.

Would mean a lot of jobs possible lost. HUmmmmm

American cars I've owned have primarily been GM products, and the Pontiac Bonneville SSEi we have now is absolutely the worst. I just might give GM one more chance, but I'm leaning elsewhere. My Ford F-150 pickup on the other hand, runs almost as well today as it did the day I drove it off the Bluebonnet Ford (New Braunfels, TX) lot in December, 1988.

I don't recall my family owning a car that was not Japanese.
