Has anyone here read or know of anyone who has read children's books by author Joy Wilt Berry, what is going on with her anyway??? 2 of her books called disobeying and being selfish just reek of self hatred - I mean she forces children and anyone else who reads those books to feel self hate, just the titles of the books speak for themselves. I don't think anyone should glorify her by reading or buying her books , send her a message that she shouldn't preach self hatred. Here is my pic[which has been taken out --Mod]!!!

All they do is give little storys and examples of why its wrong to be certain ways and do certain things. Kids very much need guidance in learning morals & values. Kids don't have the experiental base required to make sound judgments. That's what parenting is all about - raising that child to become a contributing member of a society. A little guilt now & then as a response to abberant behaviors is a good thing - along with other input from the parent the child can learn from their mistakes.

She is about to touch the hot stove, her mommy tells her not to, and she does it anyway, and gets burned, then herr mommy says "see, you disobeyed, and you got burned" then the mom tells her that adults know more than children and that when they tell children not to do something its fo rtheir own good. Now I dont know what kind of twisted childhood this manleyhose clown had, but in my world telling a kid touching a hot stove is wrong is just fine.
