Apparently, I live in KKK land. Though I, just like Sparky, know no active klansmen. I do know my fair share of racists though. A friend of a friend who's name is Rasha got a nickname recentally (thanks to yours truly) because of her closet racism. Rashist (pronounced with a long "A")

An interesting story that offers a glimpse into the history of the KKK is "The Five Orange Pips", published in 1891. It is one of the more compelling and entertaining of the Sherlock Holmes stories written by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
You can find any number of Sherlock Holmes short story collections at the book store or public library. Check it out.

Parts of New York do. New York City, especially Manhattan, has a lot of gays. So does Long Island, especially on Fire Island, the home of Cherry Grove, perhaps the most famous gay town in the United States. There are also lots of gays in San Francisco, California, Fort Lauderdale, Key West and Wilton Manors, in Florida.
People in those areas tend to be more cosmopolitan than in the rest of The States so there is very little in the way of a 'gay problem', meaning gay bashing, etc..

I dunno, it looked pretty modern to me. Lots of nice little shops and restaurants and whatnot. I suppose there are some ruins or something outside of town? Oh yeah I forgot the castle. I didn't even go in there actually. Just looked at the outside. I didn't think it was too expensive there, but then again I didn't really buy anything. We stayed at a nice bed and breakfast owned by a lady named Siobhan.

Maybe when the Irish came here in force in the 1800s, black people decided to get names from them because they weren't the ones who were enslaving them?

Exactly. They were poor and exploited and I'm sure the black people in the northern cities who met them could certainly understand how they felt.
