Personally, I got addicted to Myst, Riven, and then the Sims (yes, it's sad ;) ).

The Sims scared me away after the 3rd damn expansion. I think Doom is the alltime best PC game, it paved the way for countless others, Fallout coming in a close second.

I am currently playing Fallout. Honestly, I was quite disappointed. I enjoyed Baldurs Gate 1&2 much more.

I have all of those for my computer! But seriously, solitaire is the only game I like better on the computer.

Nothing better then having a cold beer and playing a game of pool or darts.

my favorite is the one that got me started, my first PC game, panzer General 2. that game rocked, and still does. I never played PG 1 on the PC, but I did on the playstation, but PG 2 is the best, and frebearer of lots of the great strategy games coming out now.

My favorite of all time is Baldur's Gate series. Honorable mentions for me are: Blood, Doom, Half Life, Starcraft, and Heroes of Might & Magic III.

the Baldur's Gate series and Planescape:Torment

I'm currently playing Temple of Elementil Evil but since I've just started playing, I don't know if that will end up being on my favorites list.

I was let down by Temple of Elemental Evil. I didn't like the way they did the radial menu and I didn't like the fact that none of the roles (to hit, save vs. whatever etc.) were shown. Have you played Neverwinter Nights? I liked it so much better.

my favorite is any of the SimCity games. I started playing them right after SimCityClassic came out. Now I play SC4 and dont see myself tiring of it any time soon.

Biochemgirl, Neverwinter Nights was a terrible game. It was boring as hell, the combat sucked, the story line was horrible, only thing interesting was character development. If they put Neverwinter Night's character development into Diablo 2, they would have the best game on the planet... BioWare did more than make up for the Neverwinter Nights fluke with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Which is the best game I have played in quite some time.

Blibblob,
You may have a point about the combat in NWN, but I didn't enjoy it for that reason. As you pointed out, the character interaction and development was, IMHO, great. That is the reason I enjoyed the game so much. If I was simply looking for hack-n-slash I would rather play Half-Life. I've not played any of the Diablo or Star Wars games, so I don't have anything to compare it too. Star Wars doesn't interest me but would you recommend Diablo?

Character interaction was still terrible, unless you added a few mods and hacks. Development was good. What about storyline, or lack there of.

But... Knights of the Old Republic has the best storyline ever! It is the best Star Wars movie outside the original trilogy. Combat was sweet too, when combat begun, your character parried, dodged and attacked. Diablo2, I would kind of recomend, many people find great replay value in it, me, I played it once on easy, and it was very difficult to get through the second setting, repetative. It is very good, although character development in D2 is not as good as D1, although D2's storyline is better, and has more places to go.

Is it based on the new SW trilogy? What kind of game and engine does it run on?

Is it based on the new SW trilogy?
Nope, brand new. Set four thousand years before the Glactic Empire. Just a bit after the birth of the Sith.

It is a RPG. The game engine is superb. Loading times are almost nill, I was able to max out the graphics on my computer, which is a Pentium III 866MgHz, with a GeForce4. My computer failed almost every test it performed, yet still ran beautifully. The graphics are wonderful, grass is the most realistic portion of the game, the characters are somewhat blocky(well to me, as a 3D modler), but still very nice. I did notice that Carth's hair moved... I wonder if that could be borrowed and moved to other characters... And HK-47 is the funniest character in the game, "Would you like me to just shoot the meatbag master?"

OMG and when Half-life 2 comes out... I am going to be the first in line. You have got to see the trailer for it, the graphics and interaction are just amazing!

I thought just saying GeForce 4 you would realize how shitty it is... now you get to see it as the crap it is, the MX. The loud piece of shit that doesn't release good drivers for Linux!

I am so addicted to the SIMS it's sick! It's getting to the point that I hate myself for playing but can't stop. It really isn't even that much fun so I don't understand why I'm so addicted to the game. Last friday my room-mate told me that I was the weirdest person she knew because I got dressed up to go to the club and at the last minute decided I'd rather just stay home and play SIMS !

Interesting topic, I think the best PC game has to be Far Cry if you like a lot of action, Fallout is definetly up there with it...but of course I like Far Cry a lot more, probably just cause it's new...

Can we go back arounde 6-7 years? Anyone every play Humans?

Not great graphics or anything, but a fun little game for one player. Had it on my first Tandy pc from Radio Shack, before they even had Internet hook-up in my neck of the woods. Since I've been on-line, and upgraded to a Windows computer, have never found it again. Or anything like it.

If anyone remembers the game and what it was like, and you know of something out there similar for XP, please let me know. I am still missing it. It was nothing fancy, but I had fun with it.
