Oh no Mike, he couldn't possibly be referring to the wife of our president. In the thread where that was being discussed, dharma left after saying he was through arguing that point. ;)

California was a completely different entitity in 1963, just as Texas was. Stop trying to make something out of nothing.

There weren't as many people, there weren't as many lawyers, the population wasn't quite as litigious as they are today, yeah, pretty much everything was different. Are you old enough to remember that far back?

Funny how Texas is targetted both for being too harsh and too lenient. Both categories of critics are ignorant IMO.

P.S. In Texas, we call it "criminally negligent homicide," it's a felony offense, and I would bet my savings that it didn't exist in 1963.

P.S. In Texas, we call it "criminally negligent homicide," it's a felony offense, and I would bet my savings that it didn't exist in 1963.

I believe the charge they are contemplating in this case is a misdemeanor.
