Morpheus is a prime example, they have a new software that uses Gnutella servers, so you are doing direct connection to the user and never crosses another server, great thing I suppose, only if you have a nice connection, most people will try to disconnect you just get on there with you slow 56k, I have it too, for a little while longer mind ya ;)

These file sharing clients are starting to make me very ill; I can't wait until someone comesout with a cracked version of the fasttrack server where ad free clients can be used; in addition, although they are great to get songs and things, the connection speed is always poor. My connection is capable of over 2mb most of the time but I never connect anywhere near that with kazaa, even though I usually connect between 250-500 kb/s per web serverr (if im downloading files) but thats only because of the web server limiting it, I can download 5 files at full speed without noticing any difference. Anyways with Kazaa I usually connect at about 35-45 kbps thats with 5 congruent sessions :( .

Cable is the way to go, or at least it's where I live. THe DSL providers are still too unreliable while the cable ops have managed to create a reliable srvice in very little time.

i downloaded morpheous from download.com and got a virus from them. i was pissed it took me two weeks before i could get rid of the darn thing.

I recently got cable installed and surfing through the internet is no longer frustrating. Yet when I try downloading things on Kazaa it sometimes clocks in at 5kb/sec....basically what my 56k did. Anyone know why?
