OK, so my TiVO picked up a Dream Theater concert for me the other day and I decided to give it a listen. Now I'm totally hooked. Obviously I need to go get myself a CD. Where should I start? (I downloaded The Root of All Evil off of iTunes, but I don't want to download a whole CD).

Definitely listen to Images and Words, that's their most popular and perhaps most well regarded from my experience.

Their heaviest album, Train of Thought, is my favorite. Not sure if you'd like it, but "In The Name of God" is quite the piece.

Ok they are a kick ass group that has been around forever. lol

One of the better CD's is called, Live at budokan.

This cd has 18 kick ass songs some of which are:
Hollow Years
Endless Sacrifice
New Millennium
and lots more so this is a mix bag but A GOOD listen.
