I just wanted to be the first to say congrats to manning and the Colts. I enjoyed watching Manning destroy the bad reputation he had regarding big games. It is a bad reputation for any QB to have, and since I like Peyton I especially didnt like watching him deal with it. An added bonus was seeing that jackass Belicheck sulking after he lost :D
I predict Colts win big in SB. Go Colts!

Definitely an entertaining game to watch. My roommates and I were really into the game and we're not even colts fans! Nothing caps a weekend for me than watching the patsies lose the big one.
And yes, seeing belly-chick being all torn up about his team losing was great too. That interview at the end of the game pretty much showed how classless he really is.

I'm just sick of seeing the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Although another Bears/Patriots Super Bowl would have been weird.

Everybody hates a winner it seems.
Personally, I like the Patriots. It's always fun watching a come from behind team. However, I really like Peyton Manning too, and I'll be glad to see him finally win a superbowl. Go Colts!

All I have to say is what a comeback...
down 21-3.. and having EVERY CALL and EVERY BOUNCE go the Pats way it seemed like the Colts were done....
I turned to my friend after Samuel's interception return, with my 8th bacardi and coke in hand as i exhaled a sad, sad puff from my cigarette and said this:
"That's the thing about your team being down by alot with so much time left, you never know if you might be witnessing history"
My friends called it prophetic, as just then the Colts got new life, got the field goal at the end of the half, and then proceeded to score touchdown after touchdown in the second half.
Manning had a great game, he had the one screw up on the INT, but made pinpoint throws when it counted in the second half.
Brady didn't do much, although his boy Caldwell sure did drop a few big passes. Brady had ALL DAY to throw, our D barely touched him all game, which is what i feared. He tried to force one at the end and when the INT came i dropped to my knees and raised my hands in victory. Finally.. after the 41-0 drubbing in New York in 2002, after the AFC championship loss in 2003 to New England(one that heavily depended on pass interference no-calls by the Pats, i might add), after the 20-3 beating in the divisional playoff game in 2004, after the year that went bad in 2005 when we had home field and Pittsburgh at our place and Vanderpoop went wide right... FINALLY... we are the best in the AFC. We won when it counted. We may have been the best before, but you have to win the big game to be officially labeled THE BEST.
To say that this win was a spiritual and motivational climax for me is a gigantic understatement... i still can't believe it. We are going to the SUPER BOWL!!!

The Patriots got murdered by all the yellow flags, which kinda sucked. Completely shut down a couple of their drives.

gahhh you can't blame it on the refs.. the pats had a ton of questionable no-calls in the first half. What was curious to me was on one of the throws down field by Manning to Harrison, a patriot gave a HEAVY elbow as the ball was in the air, and they replayed it once and failed to show the elbow, they only showed the end. I still havn't seen that play again, and it looked to me like obvious pass interference.
The pats also got away with a few no-called facemasks AND an obvious hold on Dillons big 4th down 35 yard run.
AND they scored the games first TD on a fumble into the endzone which looked like we had the ball secured and then it was punched out after the play was over, but the pile covered up any evidence.
AND i've seen alot less contact be called pass interference on that pass from Manning to Wayne in the endzone.. while Wayne did trip, from the back view it looks like he WAS tripped from the side, AND he got an arm to the back...
Another pass manning through over the middle intended for Dallas Clark, the patriot defender put his arm out to deflect the ball but ended up restraining clark's arm from moving upwards to catch the ball.. that wasn't called...
I would say everything went the Patriot's way, and we still beat them. By the way the game was played, Manning smoked Brady, the colts outran the patriots, had more first downs, won the possession battle.. that game should not have been anywhere NEAR that close.. it just goes to further prove that the Pats are the most FORTUNATE team in the NFL.. the ball, and calls, always seem to roll their way.
I mean, what are they... 20-20 on 4th downs this year? Un-freakin-believable.

I knew the Colts would win once their center recovered that fumble in the end zone. When the patriots did the same thing I thought it was kind of par for the course for patriot luck, but when it happened for the Colts I was like "this is the year the patriots luck runs out". Normally the pats would have recovered that, and even had some 350lb D-lineman run it all the way back, not this year!

To tell you the truth, I didn't want either of these teams to make it to the SuperBowl. I actually thought Chargers were going to go all the way, and Eagles (but that's cause they're my team). The Bears have an awaful offense, I see Colts winning it.

Newsflash....
This just in----
CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Bears football practice was delayed nearly two hours today after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Head coach Lovie Smith immediately suspended practice while police and federal investigators were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again...

This wasn't, you know...the chalk used to mark the field, was it? If it was, I pledge to hop up and down and scream for at least thirty seconds, out of sheer frustration.

Let me go out on a limb and say I have a better chance of being the first paper boy on Mars than the Bears have of winning this thing.
I predict a blowout of epic proportions, but Dungy is much too gentlemanly to run up the score on them.

This game isn't a sure thing. On paper the Colts seem like the better team.. but we all know that things don't always happen like they should, thus thats why they play the game.
1. Bears Defense - They seemed unstoppable during the beginning of the year, but later on teams exposed them and ran up some big yardage and point totals. Which one will show up?
2. Rex Grossman - There seems to be 2 different Rex Grossmans this year, the one who bombed TD passes to Berrian, and the one who through lobbed picks and fumbled snaps like it was his job. Which one will show up?
If a Solid Bears Defense and a Solid Rex Grossman DO show up, the Colts will be in trouble.
3. Colts Defense - During the year, they gave up rushing yards like a desperate whore gives out blowjobs. During the playoffs they have stuffed the run, which is the only steady part of the Bears team. Can the Colts keep up their defensive mastery?
4. Colts Rushing game - Just the threat of Manning in the backfield opens up the running game. During the playoffs Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai have enjoyed great success from opposing team's defenses worrying about Manning. Can the Colts keep running 5-7 yards a carry with a Brian Urlacher waiting in the middle?
5. Peyton Manning - Not much needs to be said, the entire game will be revolved around this guy. Can he stay out of the turnover column and make clutch throws like he did against New England?
If Manning is on, and our run defense shows up to force Grossman to win the game, the Bears will be in trouble.
