Hi. I am new to all forums and was recomended by a friend, so hello to everyone and i hope some-one can help with my problem.
I have been getting pop-ups , i think, a new web page will open up evertime I go to a new site without me doing anything. The new site that opens is along the same lines as the one i opened intentionally eg. if I go to ebay another page opens with another auction site and I am worried that origionator of the virus or whatever it is can also see my passwords etc. Is this a legitimate worry?? I have 'webroot spy sweeper' installed (was provided on the computer when I bought it) but when I run the 'sweep now' option it does not cure the problem. Infact it again brings up another anti-virus companys' site which claims to have found the problem but wants me to pay to cure it which i am sceptical about. Could you recomend any sites or software to cure this virus or worm or anything.

Have you tried to do a SYSTEM RESTORE to a few days ago (Before the popups started),then run a FULL SCAN??
