I would like to know how we, as a country, ever allowed our citizens dying to become a monetary issue? Losing a loved one is horrible. Yet, why does our country seem to think that feelings of loss can be assuaged by a simple check? And why does it become the fault of our government if a terrorist act occurs? I just dont understand the reasoning behind all of this.

Well I lost a father, a couple of uncles, and other loved ones to a terrorist, its name is cancer when do I get my piece of PIE. Everyone is trying to get in on the action, all of a sudden we are suppose to pay these familys huge sums of money(sick). What about all of our soldiers and there familys that lost there lives and loved ones over the years. What about the folks that lost parents and grandparents in Pearl Harbor. These people need to get on with there life, and quit leaching off of a lose. I mean NO disrespect to anyone that lost a loved one, but I am really getting sick of these people getting millions because the government has turned into some sort of charity program. People die everyday and there loved ones that are left behind get on with there life, it is time for America to wake up and smell the coffee.

I always thought that's what life insurance was for. Nobody ever offered an extra dime for a dead soldier, (sailor, marine, etc) but these folks' families seem to think the U.S. gov't owes them something. If there are monies due, should they not come from the pockets of the criminal organizations represented? With all these Muslim terrorists should they not sue the entire Muslim society for the money? If memory serves, some years ago a group of folks went after the Klan pretty hard and wound up with a pretty nice piece of property that used to be a training camp.

What i find so disgusting is that people on both sides of an issue want money from our government. Our own people want money if terrorists kill a loved one. Yet, for everything our country ever did that was wrong, there are hundreds, if not thousands of peopole standing there with their hands out looking for compensation. It's time for the government to realize that money cant buy you happiness or bring back a loved one IMO.
And in this particular issue above, this has been going on for 5 years. I dont feel that this is really over dead relatives anymore. It is a simple financial issue. And to listen to them talk makes my skin crawl. One of them basically said as soon as he/she gets the money then they can heal. Like whether the government compensates them or not directly affects their emotional healing. Are people really stupid enough to believe this bullsh*t ? I wish i had a voice in decisions like this.
