"I am a medical student currently doing a rotation in toxicology at the poison control center. Today, this woman called in very upset because she caught her little daughter eating ants. I quickly reassured her that the ants are not harmful and there would be no need to bring her daughter into the hospital. She calmed down and at the end of the conversation happened to mention that she gave her daughter some ant poison to eat in order to kill the ants. The stupidity of people never amazes me anymore. Granted, that is funny, but seriously, that child could have died.

How about this for stupid?

I think this lends credence to Dunkirk's post about humans separating into two subspecies. One subspecies would be more prone to things like that than the other.

AAA Emergency roadside assistance calltaker: ... how can I help tonight maam?
Caller: It's cold and my car alarm won't stop honking. It's going to run my battery down. Can you do something?
AAA ERS calltaker: Uhmmm Any idea what set it off. I locked my keys in the car and yanked on the door. It started going off, so I busted out the rear passenger window and got the keys, but it still won't turn off. Why's it doing this?

I know sounds too stupid don't it.

Caller: Look man it's easy to find me I'm right accross fromt the big sports ball in downtown.
AAA ERS calltaker: Sports Ball?
Caller: Yeah the big one.
AAA ERS calltaker: Sir would that also be known as Mellon Arena?
Caller: Yep that's the one.
