Imagine looking at all the old odds and ends he found in this:

This reminds me of the time I lost a wallet at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago many years ago.
It was returned to me (mailed ) intact--even with the lucky fifty-cent piece in it.

Thank goodness there's still some honest folks out there!

My youngest son took a plane to visit his dad one Christmas and on his return he lost his wallet. He was 14 at the time and was totally bummed out...he had his Christmas money and gift cards in it. We called the airline and told them what happened and I believe it was a month later that the airline mailed him his wallet. Everything was still in it! It's great to know there are still some honest people out there. I'm glad this man had his wallet returned...gives us all hope!:smile2:

I truly like stories like this.. It makes me feel there is hope for society. Some times I was really wondering with all the give me give me in society, Or trying to keep up with the Jone's. Nice story!

I remember back in the day...hehe...there was a rash of wallet theft happening at the main library on campus. After the thief had stolen the wallet and removed all of the cash, he would drop the wallet into a postal box so that you got all of your ID back.

A small concession perhaps but at least you didn't have to get all of your ID redone. Today, they would likely sell your identity as well.

That's true, fifty cents isn't a lot of money, but it was a solid silver coin that was given to me by my grandpa and it would have been devastating to lose it.

Maybe there are more honest people in certain areas, like museums, but in my own state, in a poor community, a lady's purse was returned intact and it contained several hundred dollars.

It depends on the person's upbringing, I'd say, and also if they themselves have ever sufferd a big loss and know the feeling.
