Considering the type of aircraft that was used, we didn't "bomb" the targets, we "shelled" them. The AC-130 Gunship is a great weapon to use against this type of target.

You'd hope so, but an event on a much grander scale - ie Iraq wasn't based on any kind of careful planning or intellegence gathering, so there is absolutely no given that any such action is based on such gand things.

No one would. They're the first and penultimate line of defense - IOW, they’re very good at flattening shit. It's funny, because I viewed that video with a sense of reverence. My father used to fly C-130 A models when he was a lowly captain and lieutenant for the USAF, and he just watched that video with me commenting on the communication between the nav, gunman, and pilot (whom you can hear very clearly by the droning of the turboprops). it's a good thing there isn't a draft, or namby-pamby bleeding hearts, such as yourself, would be wringing their hands over who might be on the ground floor when rpgs are being fired at them from a second floor window. the rules of engagement are constrictive enough without going in and checking IDs before an airstrike.
