For years I ignored them. Always felt they were cheap ripoffs of Mettalica.
Here's the deal, maybe as I get older I get more nostalgic or perhaps as I educate myself in music, I begin to understand what he and the band were trying to do. Of late, I have begun to appreciate them in a new light.
However from what I've read and such, it seems despite all of their success and such, he never got over being kicked out of Metallica. In a lot of ways it seemed they were always trying to catch the white whale of Lars, Kirk, James and Jason.
The funny thing is with time as the monster that is Metallica awash in their own stubborness and problems by most that I speak with are becoming corny and stale. While Megadeth isn't as active anymore (although they do appear to be working on a new album) a lot of people like myself are rediscovering that Dave and the boys may have had more on the ball than we realized at the time, unfortunately.
