On January 4th my son turned 5. Because my day off wasn't until today, my wife and I held his party today at the rec center in our little town.

We had asked people to call and let us know if they couldn't be there so we could plan. No one called so we had to expect about 30 kids and who knows how many adults. As luck would have it, most everyone just didn't read the invite. About 12 kids and about 20 adults showed.

Evan is still young enough to not care, the kids that did show, were all for the most part in his age group and they played hard. My wife did an incredible job with the party and everyone had a great time.

Kathy and I got him a new bike. Luckily kathy's parents got him a bike helmet. As Evan took off it quickly became obvious he had no idea how to break. At one point he resembled a pinball bouncing off the walls and doors. This summer ought to be interesting.

Frogger I'm sorry if this falls into the minutae type thread. I'm tired and getting ready for bed but I'm also in the mood to share. Evan was pretty good and the party went well. Made for a long day but so what.

Happy birthday bubby, you deserved it! :alien:  :D

As much as I love my son. There are times that literally drive me crazy. And that's putting it very mildly.
