Thus far, the United States is the only country claiming to have placed man on the moon.
It is long past time that we return there to explore the wonders that might be available either on the moon itself or having arrived there finding we can move even further out more easily. No atmosphere or major gravity to contend with means a "brick" travels as well as a highly refined aerodynamic shape.

Yes, I think the moon would be a good place to launch a 'planet hoping' programme, tho it would take hundreds of years, you gotta start somewhere.

I just read that the Japanese decided to cancel their bid for their own moon base. I wonder which country will build a permanent moonbase first
