Four. They could have done with better video coverage.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - "The tyrant has fallen," a witness shouted after Saddam Hussein dropped through the trap door of the gallows, his neck broken in an instant by the rope moments after exchanging sectarian taunts with onlookers. Grainy footage of the execution, apparently shot on a mobile phone by a witness who was standing below looking up at the gallows, was circulating widely on the Internet on Sunday, a day after Saddam was hanged for crimes against humanity.
As the hangmen prepare him for his final moment, some of those invited to attend standing below the platform taunted the former president, who was executed on Saturday before dawn.

One man shouts "Moqtada, Moqtada, Moqtada," a reference to cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, who heads a powerful Shi'ite political movement and a militia blamed by Washington and Sunni Arabs for running death squads targeting Saddam's Sunni Arab minority.
Saddam, the noose around his neck, appears to smile and shoot back: "Is this what you call manhood?" Another onlooker, despite pleas from another for witnesses to observe the proprieties, yells: "Go to hell!"

...to paraphrase what another person said....

What better way could there be to show the world that America is superior ethically, and in every other way imaginable, than to put a rope around a man's neck on global television and allow a pack of yammering, superstitious pricks to mock him just before he is executed.

What a terrific display of showmanship America!!

True. But if the execution was to be done by the Iraqis, don't you think they would have tortured him real good. They would have let him bleed to death on the streets. Have a nice parade after.

the Iraqi Government is catching enough flak for when they did it, and for comments made by the witnesses. if the families of his victims had it their way, it wouldn't have looked more like what Mussolini's execution looked like.

It should've been put on pay-per-view. I would've paid 500 dollars to see him swing.

Why even do any digging?

Just look at what the culture and media display as worthy of praise and respect

Paris Hilton anyone?.. how about Reality TV?...

Have a nice parade after. It would depend on which Iraqis were doing it. If it was done by the Mahdi Army then you would certainly see torture and parades. However, the execution was done by the central government which would not torture him (openly, at least).

Will you pay me five hundred to send you the link via GoogleVideo? :D

But that lacks the flavor of actually seeing it live, and I don't mean via someone's cell phone.

I'm talking about professional coverage here...
