There not being a geography forum, and not knowing where else to post this, I thought I'd put this here.

This is a screenshot from the free Google Earth program available at http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html

It's a satellite image of my neighborhood in Minneapolis. Now I'll zoom out a bit.

Pretty cool, huh? Another zoom:

Here's Beijing, specifically the Forbidden City:

Each of the '+' buttons links to a photo, each 'i' to a description of whatever is there. IOW, you can take a virtual tour of the world.

So what do you think?

I have been using the free version of the Google Earth for sometime now, it's amazing the things one can spot if one knows the area, even the new buildings that weren't there the last time one was physically there. I have it in my PC.

That's a nice sedan you have there, sedan. Your yard looks good too.

My house didn't exist when the satellite dropped by . . .

Way cool sedan. I had heard of this but hadn't tried it out yet. Amazing stuff.

I have had it for a while. If you download it, you will be surprised at the times you will use it to view something.
